Re: UFC on Versus 2 - Jones vs. Matyushenko
Until he fights a top level fighter in their prime I won't call him a beast. Not until he beats somebody like Rampage, Shogun, Machida, Thiago, Tito......then I will call him a beast.Comment

The Rampage/Machida fight is practically a #1 contenders fight so I doubt he fights either of them next. The more I think about it the winner of Bader/Nog is perfect.Comment

Re: UFC on Versus 2 - Jones vs. Matyushenko
Tito? Thiago Silva?
Bones would destroy those guys in as quick as fashion as he murdered Vera, Hamill, and Vladdy. There is not ONE fighter who has destroyed Vera, Hamill, and Vladdy in the fashion that Jones has. All of those guys are game fighters and Jones tossed them around like they were first day amateurs that didn't even belong in the cage with him. Fittingly, Vera and Hamill are probably in their prime right now.
Rampage is out of his prime anyway, and Tito definitely is. Not that Tito in his prime would've taken a fight with Bones anyway (and he sure as hell isn't taking the fight now, since it would be a guaranteed asswhooping). Bones vs Tito would make me smile because Bones would be tossing around Tito like he did to Hamill and then finish him in about 2 minutes. The only LHWs in their prime (and in current title contention) are Shogun, Machida, and Rashad.. and Machida is booked with Rampage, and Rashad and Shogun are awaiting to duke it out.
Jones vs winner of Lil Nog / Bader makes plenty of sense, or Bones vs Forrest or Rich Franklin makes sense too. He will win all of them, but it's a must to keep this guy busy..Last edited by XFactah416; 08-01-2010, 10:38 PM.Comment

Thiago Silva or Forrest Griffin would be a good fight for him. Thiago is definitely in a class above everyone he has fought until now.Tito? Thiago Silva?

He'll never fight Rashad anyways because he trains with him..::..::::::::.:.:.:.:....:::.:.::::..:.:::....:::: ...:..::."When you're an assassin, you don't have a conscience"-Gilbert ArenasComment

Give him Rich Franklin. If he dominates that fight I'll be very impressed.Comment

I guess Canada got a 1 hour delay on this but anyways.....JON BONES JONES!!
I don't even think he got hit in that fight. Hopefully this means Dana and Joe Silva will put him back in the Octagon in the next couple months. For his next opponent I'm thinking Forrest Griffin would be a nice matchup. Then if he beats Forrest, he should be 1-2 fights away from a #1 contender fight at the least.
As for the other fights tonight, it was a pretty solid card. You can't go wrong with free MMA. John Howard's eye was disgusting and Gomi had a vicious knockout on Tyson Griffin, which should redeem him after Florian picked him apart.
Looking forward to Silva/Sonnen next. Chael is a damn fool and I can't wait for Anderson to destroy Chael and that giant mouth of his.
EDIT: Anyone know the results of the prelims? I think the only one I saw was the Oliveria fight where he choked the dude out right after getting slammed.Last edited by BlueNGold; 08-01-2010, 11:19 PM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: UFC on Versus 2 - Jones vs. Matyushenko
Bones needs to get the winner of Nog/Bader. Just another dominating performance from him. That inside leg trip he has with the long legs is going to be insanely hard to stop.
Okami/Munoz was pretty meh. Okami again shows he is a gatekeeper to the stars as he beat a mid-level guy but not that convincingly.
I jumped out of my seat when Gomi KO'd Griffin. Hopefully the Fireball Kid has a few more KO's left in him.
Oliviera is also a nice up and coming BJJ prospect. Definitely one to look out for in his coming fights.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

It will be Bader/Nog no doubt in my mind.
I think it's the most obvious fight as can be.Comment

What are you basing that statement on? He's only lost once, and accumulation of punches got him in that one.

Re: UFC on Versus 2 - Jones vs. Matyushenko
I'd like this one... good striker. It would at least be a fairly interesting fight, but Rich will get his wig split.
The Nog/Bader winner is a good one too, but I think they should give him a big name older guy to see if he can handle his business again like he has been. That would be a great way to get his name even bigger and sell him as a #1 contender type, which I think he is based on potential alone, not to mention the list of guys he's just flat-out dominated.
That crucifix was scary, I thought for sure he was gonna cut Vlad's head open something nasty, but luckily the ref stopped it.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
