BloodMeridian,so which route did you use to get rid of it? I'm looking to get rid of my copy and when i do i'm never buying another mma game from thq again.I know i'm gonna take a loss in the money department but i really want to get the bad taste of this game out of my mouth.

When you think about it, how in the hell did this game get these reviews,

    GamePro 100

    GamerNode 100

    GameDaily 100

    XboxAddict 95

    Totally360 95

    BigPond GameArena 95

    GameFocus 94

    Game Over Online 94

The game just came out a few days ago. I'd wait it out. I got it yesterday and like it so far.

That's no mystery. From a casual/non-fan point of view all the slugging and KOs is great. We'll blast this thing to hell and back here because we're MMA fans. It probably doesn't even bother them they can't have an Anderson Silva vs. GSP fight because they barely know who they are.

If they don't patch the submissions, I am done with this game. How can one of the biggest issues with the game last year be another huge issue this year?

I'll wait for a patch, but at the moment I am really, really regretting buying this last night.

I'm with you on the submission front. I have no idea how they can 'implement' that stupid system from last year, which they already knew people hated. They claimed they did some tweaking and it's "all about" shining now and adds a new layer of depth and blah blah blah.

If everyone already hated doing that, why the %##^ would you FORCE them to do it again this year? I hate button mashing in any game but at least it worked. The thing is, unless they're able to change how easy it is to submit someone, or stamina regeneration, and both of those absolutely do need to be changed. But if they do anything other than that, submissions will probably stay broken because they can't exactly implement a new submission system in a patch.

And you're right, they have all these great looking submissions and submission transitions which would be so frickin' cool to use to end a fight. But no, nothing of the sort. Instead of you "shine" after beating your opponent to the point where a jab black and whites the screen and he collapses. Go over and try to submit him, and still can't. Ridiculous, how can they not see these problems coming a mile away? Timetable or not, play your ridiculous game and actually get your ego out of the equation and say hmm, are people actually going to like this? I think if they did that or grabbed 25 people from the street to try some things out, they'd find out no one liked their absurdly devolved "shine" system.

It is great game if you are not a hardcore mma fan,Seriously most fans in reality don't enjoy Fitch dry humping of other fighters on the ground,You think casual fans are going to enjoy a game where i can stay on top for five rounds and you can't do anything?

Do people think that game solid millions of copies because "large mma community" bought tons of copies.UFC has a fine line to cross between fun game and mma sim.I want to play mma sim but fun game sells more than mma sim.

i still havent even gotten to try it out yet. I preordered the game but i'm at my dad's house in SC visiting while my game is back in NJ so tomorrow when i fly back i'll get home, burn one down, and see what this game is all about. I'm sure i'll still hate submissions and a few other things, but IMO a game like this is always worth having around because throughout the year i'll get into a mood where i wanna play a UFC game. Usually after watching a PPV or something MMA i'll want to play the game.

Hahaha well any game is decent after that.

I have been getting some enjoyment out of the game as of late but 'm getting really annoyed with the transition from full mount down to full mount up. Whenever I try to move to full mount up my guy will switch back to side control. I haven't had one fight yet where I've been postured up in the full mount.

Also, another small gripe I have is that there are some throws/slams in the game that I feel I'll never see. QJ has a a couple slams from rare grappling positions that I have yet to see in any fight.

You posture up with a minor transition. Doing a major will move you back to side control. I haven't had much problem with it.

People need to stop hating on this game, seriously. It isn't 2009, and it is deeper than 2009. I had a career where I went 38-15. I finally realized how to build my character later in my career, so if you can stand to free spar than you will see improvements. And please don't complain too much about flash ko's, because as we all know with last year they made it impossible to do them after the first patch. And yes you can ko a person with muay thai knees, you just have to finish them off.

Why not complain about too many flash KO's? I'm 30 fights in and I haven't seen a fight finish any other way... is that normal?

                        *EDIT*

Okay, I'm now at 35 matches played (Some online, exhibition, and career), with ALL 35 ending with a flash KO in the first 3 minutes of the first round. If I don't hear imminent plans to patch this within the next few weeks, this game will be returned. Oh yeah, I won't even get my money's worth out of it now because of these ridiculous online codes that cost $5 now. In that case, maybe I'll just shelf it until it's patched, or go back to 2009. At least I feel I have fun with 2009. This flash KO thing is completely out of hand...and then some. I worry every time an opponent even gets a weak left jab because it has a 20% chance to flash KO me.

that's the thing...I don't know if I will get rid of it since I don't want to regret doing so.

there are things I like, but a lot I don't too. After I finish Career, I doubt I'll do another one since it's too much of a grind and you start off- AND spend the majority of your career with crappy stats.
