Fedor retiring to go into politics?

I don't have a link but I just seen it on my TV. Supposedly he's doing his last 2 Strikeforce fights and retiring to get into politics in Russia. WTF?

I heard rumblings and I doubt anyone would be surprised if he really retired.

All I can do is SMH at this guy and his team.

I drool at the thought of him coming to the UFC.

Hopefully he gets KTFO in one of his last two fights. I won't miss him at all.

he will always have that "what would have happened if he joined the ufc?" aura/question surrounding him and his legacy.

                          ...seriously?

I am not a huge fedor fan but come on, he is undoubtedly the greatest HW (if not p4p) fighter of all time.

Re: Fedor retiring to go into politics?

People don't like him because he was a resilient fighter. He was almost beaten in several of his matches, yet still found a way to win the fight. His only loss came from an illegal elbow, and he never quit, it was because the cut was so bad. If he was not a Russian (you know what I mean), than he would have been more appreciated by the masses. He is quiet and usually very humble. I think if he didn't have the ties to M-1, than he would have went to the UFC a long time ago. M-1 Global hurt his chance's of fighting in the UFC, and when your management (M-1 Global) is supposedly connected to the Russian Mafia, I would think to walk away would be an unwise move. So does he get lucky? Who doesn't! Is he out of shape? Oh yeah! Is he one of the greatest? Definitely!

I'll believe it when I see it as this would certainly give him tremendous leverage on a contract negotiation and I wouldnt put it past the idiots over at M1 to come up with this plan in an attempt to get more money.
