Lesnar #1
Although it goes without saying, Lesnar is easily the #1 fighter on earth. This should silence the naysayers and Fedor nuthuggers.....for a little while at least.Tags: None -
Re: Lesnar #1
It won't silence anyone. Go to the UG and people are saying his performance last night shows that Fedor would slaughter both fighters.
Fedor's nuts are buried deep within those and are apparently unmovable. -
Re: Lesnar #1
Why do people have to be Fedor/Brock **thuggers? Why can't people just have varying opinions on which fighter they like most? To be honest, Fedor didn't look all that great in the Rogers/Werdum fights and Brock got thoroughly dominated and pummeled to pieces in the first round against Carwin (although Brock did win and show a great chin and some resiliency in the fight), so people are still going to argue this both ways. Also, calling people Fedor **thuggers is going to do nothing but probably spark off a flame war between Brock and Fedor supporters, so I'm not sure that this post is going to help the debate at all.
For the record, I am a Fedor fan, a Carwin fan, and after last night (because of his renewed attitude, not necessarily his performance) I am starting to become a Lesnar fan, and I'm not debating who I think is better, I just think calling people Fedor **thuggers is going to do more harm than good.Last edited by Illustrator76; 07-04-2010, 08:49 AM.Comment

I mean - he loses to Werdum in under 2 minutes, then Lesnar goes on to take a beating and come back and choke Carwin out - and people are saying that that proves Fedor is the top HW still. You see how it just makes no sense?

I support and like all fighters except for Koschek and A. Silva. I'm a Fedor fan as well. A Fedor nuthugger is a different and I apologize for grouping them with true MMA fans.Comment

Re: Lesnar #1
I'm not even dogging on Fedor for losing that fight. True, it was the only fight in 5 years you didn't expect him to win, but anyone can make a mental mistake and get caught like that. It was bound to happen eventually. The term nuthuggers is reserved for those who simply cannot and will not accept that Fedor is perhaps not the best heavyweight on the planet.

Thanks guys, I understand. I just wish more people on this forum (not talking about you guys) would have a more open mind when it comes to subjects like discussing fighters, players, etc... There are points/counterpoints that can be made for/against every fighter alive, I don't understand how any person on either side of these "discussions" doesn't see this. The term nuthuggers is reserved for those who simply cannot and will not accept that Fedor is perhaps not the best heavyweight on the planet.

Re: Lesnar #1
Fedor just needs to grow a sac and sign with the UFC and fight Brock. Then we will know who the better fighter is.MLB: New York Mets
NFL: New York Giants
NBA: New York Knicks
NCAAF: Rutgers Scarlet Knights/Michigan Wolverines

Re: Lesnar #1
I really have to say that lesnar impressed me last night. He clearly is on of the top guys in HW. However, like in boxing and other sports where it is a game of seconds and one mistake can make a huge difference I supports the stance that apart from a few occasions, no one is unbeatable and therefore there are only a few guys that dominated a division to be considered THE no1. In MMA upsets happen because one action can end a fight. Lesnar got caught by Mir, Silva by Ryu, Fedor by Werdum. All considered heavy favorites and they still lost because of 1 mistake they made.Comment

Re: Lesnar #1
I wish people would just stop using the term nuthugger. It's often throw around like a blanket to anyone who dares defend Fedor, and usually comes from people who are themselves the definition of the word. The term nuthuggers is reserved for those who simply cannot and will not accept that Fedor is perhaps not the best heavyweight on the planet.

I'm a Fedor fan, and he's one of the guys that made me a fan of MMA. But yes, Fedor can't be the #1 ranked HW on the planet anymore, as he just lost. However, I also don't see how fans of the sport can believe that one loss invalidates a whole career or his skills either, but whatever.
For lesnar, I have always held the position that he hasn't really proved much in the few fights he had, but would gladly praise him when the time came. He's still looked sloppy, but his freakish size and power were still there. I did enjoy seeing him prove that he has a chin and heart.Last edited by bkfount; 07-04-2010, 02:48 PM.Comment
