Frank Mir wants 3rd fight with Brock Lesnar‎

Frank Mir tweeted earlier today that he wants to hold off on dropping to 205 to stay at 235 in hopes of fighting Brock Lesnar again.

This excites me in ways you wouldn't believe. My two favorite fighters are Mir and Lesnar. Mir is the reason I started watching UFC, and Lesnar is the reason I still watch. I saw both of their first 2 fights, and I believe a third fight is REQUIRED to see who really is the best of the 2. Honestly, I think Mir could definitely take Lesnar again. Lesnar is a beast, but, like I always say to my friends, Mir is like a friggin' Tiger-Man. He will eat you alive if he gets a chance.

First fight I ever saw was a fight Mir fought in. Don't remember who it was against, but I'm sitting there watching it, and all of a sudden, he throws the meanest roundhouse kick I've ever seen, makes contact with the guy's head, and the guy falls to the ground. But not only does he fall to the ground, but when he falls, his head lands on his own knee, knocking him out COLD.

Honestly, I don't care who wins, because I love both fighters, but just wondering what you guys think.

I would like to see it but I don't think he deserves a shot until he gets a few more wins. I really can't see it happening anytime soon. I think Lesnar takes the rubbermatch via first round TKO if they do fight.

Mir needs to give it up. He was getting his *** handed to him the first fight until an inexperienced Lesnar made a stupid mistake. The he got his *** handed to him the second fight. The 3rd fight will look like the 2nd and 1st, without the mistake - why would Mir really want that?

Mir needs to give it up. He was getting his *** handed to him the first fight until an inexperienced Lesnar made a stupid mistakes. The he got his *** handed to him the second fight. The 3rd fight will look like the 2nd and 1st, without the mistake - why would Mir really want that?

He's just trying to recapture his pre-accident glory. Can't blame him for that but I agree. He should just drop to 205 and forget the HW division for now.

By saying that Mir won the first fight because Lesnar made a stupid mistake, you could also say Lesnar won tonight's fight because Carwin made a stupid mistake, couldn't you? It's my understanding that Carwin was beating Lesnar to a pulp in the first round, and then Lesnar got the upperhand in the second, and won. Isn't that something similar to the first Mir/Lesnar fight? As you say, Mir was getting his *** handed to him just like Lesnar was against Carwin. So is Mir's win any less of a win than Lesnar's was tonight?

I still think it'd be worth seeing. Mir should still drop down, but like I said, I believe a third fight is needed. You can't end things with a draw. This isn't soccer. lol I think we all need to see them fight one more time.

To me there is a difference between making a rookie mistake and being the lesser fighter.

Carwin took advantage of a man who had ring rust, and by the end of the first Brock got back into killer mode. I believe Mir deserves a third match, but he needs to earn it first. I say Lesnar in the first.

Gotta agree here, I think Mir is overrated and would get killed, just like the first two times.

If Mir wants to stay a HW and get a rematch with Brock. He needs to prove he can beat a BIG HW. Mir is a good fighter but he cant hang with guys like Carwin and Lesnar.

Go down to 205 and fight the Spider.

I have no interest at all in Mir/Lesnar III. I like watching Mir fight but he can't handle the Lesnar/Carwin type.

Mir needs to quit while he's behind. 1st fight he was lucky to catch Brock in a rookie mistake and tap him out. 2nd fight he's lucky Brock let him live and he just mauled his face. This time Brock may just say screw this and kill the dude to finally shut him up.

And you dont go from getting your *** kicked by Carwin to fighting the guy that just whooped the *** of the guy who whooped your ***.
