I foresee a classic Machida fight, lots of knees to the body, leg kicks and backing up.

We'll see. You never know how guys will bounce back from a KO/TKO loss. I think Rampage has some extra motivation after admitting he wasn't in top shape and didn't perform his best in the Rashad fight.Currently Playing:

I've heard the same reports this time around that he looks very slow in camp and looks heavy again. We'll see though. I have a feeling Machida handles him easily.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: UFC 123 - Rampage Vs Machida - Penn v. Hughes 3
This is a fight about as 50/50 as can be.
I see a case for either guy to get knocked out, or either guy to win a decision.
Hell I see a split decision.
I should be way more excited for this but I'm not, I don't know why.Comment

I'm not that excited because I like Rampage and just assume that Machida will massacre him.Comment

I don't know. I think it could end up being a really boring fight.
I just hope at least one of them shows they still have a heartbeat and could still be a challenger for the belt.
Both guys have looked pretty blah lately.Comment

Also, nothing I read has Rampage even getting the benefit of the doubt. I too see him getting ko'd thoughOriginally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

I'm hoping to be surprised and this actually be a good fight, but I honestly don't think Rampage has anything to offer Machida..::..::::::::.:.:.:.:....:::.:.::::..:.:::....:::: ...:..::."When you're an assassin, you don't have a conscience"-Gilbert ArenasComment

And yeah, I have no faith in guys like Rampage. He is saying he's all about honor now, so we'll see.
I could see neither guy engaging at all.Comment

I never said anyone had figured him out.
I said he's looked pretty blah in his last two fights. Agree or disagree, it's just my opinion, and it doesn't seem that unreasonable.
He lost his last two btw.Comment

Machida didn't look bad in his last two fights, Shogun just looked really good..::..::::::::.:.:.:.:....:::.:.::::..:.:::....:::: ...:..::."When you're an assassin, you don't have a conscience"-Gilbert ArenasComment

Re: UFC 123 - Rampage Vs Machida - Penn v. Hughes 3
I still don't see that. I saw a lack luster, non confident Machida in his last two. He wasn't just waiting to counter, he was tentative.
Might just be a bad match-up for him against Rua, but he didn't look like a champ or close to it in either fight.Comment

Re: UFC 123 - Rampage Vs Machida - Penn v. Hughes 3
In the second fight Machida looked calm, comfortable, and had an answer for almost everything Shogun did. He got caught by a big right hook after he believed he had Shogun hurt with a huge knee to the body.
I mean we're talking about Machida here. We know he's not going to overwhelm anyone with an offensive attack, he's going to keep his distance, be patient, and look for openings. I have watched the first fight a number of times and I can see how the judges gave it to Machida, even after initially feeling Shogun got robbed..::..::::::::.:.:.:.:....:::.:.::::..:.:::....:::: ...:..::."When you're an assassin, you don't have a conscience"-Gilbert ArenasComment
