Id rather see Rampage get the winner of Rua vs Evans instead of watching him fight Machida again. The guy lost his title and has had to do so much just to get a chance to fight for his belt again and he still hasnt had that chance yet while other guys get chances right away.
      I completely agree.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with the decision under the 10 point must system. Yeah, Machida would've won the fight under a "common sense" system, but under this 10 point must.. it's very conceivable to believe that Rampage won this fight.

Let Rampage fight the winner of Shogun vs Rashad. Rashad vs Rampage II would easily sell, or Rampage gets his shot at redemption against Shogun.

I had it 29-28 Machida, 1st round was rampage closing distance, but hitting air, and getting leg kicked, then trying to clinch aganst the cage and getting revered and eating knees. the 2nd round was rampages, simply landed the better shots despite more of what happened in the 1st, rampage actually connected with a few good shots. the 3rd round evewn cecil peoples couldnt score for Rampage, at least I dont think he could.

Are you guys serious? Rampage won the fight. While watching I knew he had round 1 and 2, it was pretty clear to me and everyone else. Machida won round 3 by a wider margin, but it's still 10-9, unless you want to give 10-8 ; but even me who is a huge supporter of more 10-8;s wouldn't give him that.

Too little too late for Machida, he would have won a 5 rounder which would have been nice to see....but in the future he can't fight 3 rounders like that or he'll keep losing.

Rampage won it because Machida simply didn't do enough in the 1st 2 rounds.

Dana White also says that Rampage won rounds 1 & 2 in his mind and from the sounds of things he isnt going to be booking a rematch between the two either. According to Dana, it was a decisive win for Jackson.

Whoa. That's surprising, but good to hear.

I guess he agrees that Machida wasn't pushing the pace or being aggressive until the 3rd round. I'm sure the fact that Rampage hasn't had a shot at his title since losing it also factors in to this.

The win doesnt mean a title shot yet though. It probably means that Rampage faces the winner of Bader/Jones for a title shot. Especially since Rua/Evans wont happen until March, April or May.

Yeah I was thinking 'no way do I want to see an immediate rematch between Page/Machida'. F no to that snore fest. I somewhat admire Page's honesty but it just wouldn't make sense for things going forward even though it was a close fight.

I then thought about Jones/Bader would be a logical bout for Page... that would be awesome. Winner of that would get a title shot... it all works out perfectly. Unless Evans is champ and Jones defeats Bader and Page... SMH

LHW title picture is going to be pretty crazy for a while.

Shogun, Rashad, Rampage, Machida, and even Forrest. Try to pick a clear cut favorite out of that bunch.

Then there is possibly Jon Jones, Ryan Bader, and I wouldn't be too quick to write off a completely healthy Thiago Silva.

It will be amazing for any champion to make it through two defenses.

                        Fun times ahead.

Yeah I know. I just meant that it probably made more sense to push him forward than basically hold him in place and re-do the Machida fight since Rampage has already had so many fights (winning most of them) since losing the belt.

I'd most definitely be down for a Rampage/winner of Jones vs Bader fight. Either of those guys fighting Page would be nice.

Yeah there's no way Rampage deserves a title shot right now. Let him fight Bader or Jones to determine that.

As far as Machida, what's his next fight? Loser of Griffin/Franklin? Randy? Phil Davis? Matt Hamill? I would like to see any of those happen.

Rampage did even less from what I saw. Maybe I missed something. Though this exact discussion was had before about a Machida fight. Leg kicks were good enough then huh?

Is Forrest locked in to a fight coming up? If not, I'd like to see a Jackson-Griffin rematch. I had that fight scored a draw last time, so definitely some unfinished business there.
