      That's an intriguing matchup.

Well, like others have said, give Rampage the Jones-Bader winner.

I'm glad BJ took care of business against Hughes. People were thinking Hughes was back b/c he had beaten Matt Serra (really should've lost that fight had Serra been more aggressive), Renzo Gracie (dude was only in the UFC b/c the Abu Dhabi guys wanted a Gracie on the card) and Ricardo Almeida (nothing special). They quickly forgot how he was destroyed by GSP and Alves. Granted, Alves missed weight but still, dude messed up Hughes.

I was bummed Lauzon lost. I like that kid.

So how likely is it that White will do Rampage/Machida II immediate rematch?

I really don't want him to do that but I have a feeling it's gonna happen.

i hope it doesnt happen. I feel bad for Rampage. It seems like other guys in the UFC that lose their belt get a title shot within 2 wins but Rampage has not had a chance at a title in a long time. Yes he lost to Evans which would have gotten him his shot but i thought he should get one even before that. Since the guy has been in the UFC only Eastman has been a fight against a non superstar. Especially with the Forrest fight being so close as it was (i had it a draw) it seems he's had to do more than others to get back to a title fight.

I dont think letting him fight the winner of Rua/Evans is a bad thing. He's fought much tougher competition than Jones & Bader have and a rematch against Rashad would be easy to promote as would a rematch of him vs Rua. Then you have the winner of Bader/Jones fight Machida and the winner of that gets the winner of Rampage vs Rua/Evans.

I agree with you in one regard, compared to other former champs he really sort of got the short end of the stick. I'm sure this topic has been discussed at length here in the past.

Outside of the Wanderlei fight, he's just looked sort of bleh. Albeit he's had to fight the best of the best in Machida/Evans...

So I certainly see your point of Jones/Bader not having the same track records [Vera, Nog, Jardine]. Still when you look at their skill sets, they can't be denied even with their level of competition.

I see both sides of the coin when it comes to Page fighting Rua/Evans, and I guess I can't be mad with whatever decision is made for the near future of the LHW division.

^Agreed. Rampage really should've had an immediate rematch against Griffin since that fight was so close. Yes, I know he went crazy after that fight but still, he came back and fought (I believe) on the same card as Griffin-Evans and KO'd Wandy, so clearly he was ready to fight at that time.

Unless this fight last night did a lot of PPV buys, I don't see Dana having any real interest in a rematch.

                  Awesome. Good job Dana.

Also, I think this definitely means Page will get a title shot, even though White wouldn't confirm anything. That quote just tells me it's gonna happen.

With both Jackson and Machida coming off losses, a win was essential to get back in the title conversation. White refused to guarantee Jackson a shot at the Mauricio Rua-Rashad Evans winner but said he is now being considered.

"He's in the mix," White said. "Those two fighting [Saturday] are at the top of the heap in the 205-pound division. And Rampage came out the winner tonight."

yea i cant disagree with you because i do think Jones has the skill to be in the title hunt. I'm not as sold on Bader but his record is what it is and if he beats Jones then he deserves to be in the discussion. But i dont think either of them deserve it before Rampage.

ESPN's Rossen last night on possible match ups for both Page/Machida

JakeRossen: Awful fight. I suppose Jackson will fight the winner of either Jones/Bader or Griffin/Franklin.

JakeRossen: Machida will probably the loser of Jones/Bader, but I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Phil Davis. He'd make it a fight.

I don't want Jackson anywhere near Griffin/Franklin that would be stupid IMO and not going forwards but backwards.

I would love to see Machida fight either loser of Jones/Bader or Phil Davis. That makes a lot of sense.

yea seriously why should Page have to fight the winner of Griffin/Franklin? Thats a step back like you said. It should be a title shot or winner of Jones/Bader.

If Griffin beats Franklin don't be surprised to see a rematch with Rampage just because it would equal lots of money.

Rashad, who I believe is going to get the title back from Shogun, would also do big money with either a rematch with Forrest or Rampage for the title.

                            Pretty solid card.

I didn't find the Machida/Jackson match boring. I would like to see Jackson face the winner of Jones/Bader in a number one contender's match.

Does Parisyan work out? He was cut after the event but Griffin survived the chopping block.

I thought the "youtube sensation" person was a chick until I did some research.

i dunno, i dont see Griffin as a big draw anymore. I find it funny though that after his close fight with Rampage he said i think we may need to do it again and basically said they need to do a rematch because of how close a decision it was yet there was no rematch and Rampage said the same thing last night and everyone is wanting a rematch, well a lot of people at least thing there needs to be one.

I was suprised to see him at all. Far as I knew he had already been cut and wasn't welcome back after pulling out 2 days before the fight he was supposed to have when he came back from suspension.
