I'm not too fond of this gatekeeper business, if that's indeed what Hughes has become.

Oh well, maybe this will be considered his last run. I guess I can't knock his recent resume too much.
Win or lose this is probably Hughes last fight. If GSP would lose the belt or retire he could work his way up for another shot but thats not gonna happen.

People knock Dana but this stuff is what makes him great. If he was Bob Arum, Chuck would still be getting his *** knocked out. He forces fighters to quit if its clear they are done.

Re: Jones v. Rampage - UFC 135- SEPT 24- DENVER

        Prediction Time:

        Rampage - TKO Rnd 3.

        Here is what I know:

        - Rampage is the hardest puncher in the LHW division.
        - I've watched every Jones fight and I've never seen him take a solid punch.
        - Even in the fights he's lost in the UFC, Rampage has been competitive and never been dominated. (Arguably beat Forrest and had Rashad hurt in the 3rd round).

Its going to come down to gameplans. If Jones sticks to Greg Jackson's gameplan, I can see Jones mixing in a ton of leg kicks and going for takedowns after strikes. If he keeps his distance, I can see him coasting to a decision. I just dont see him breaking Rampage and getting a stoppage. I'm not saying it cant happen. I just dont see it happening.

Rampage has two ways to win: Look for the one KO shot or use his wrestling like he did against Henderson to close the distance and put Jones on the defensive. We've never seen Jones on his back and it would be interesting to see him fight from that position. We've also never seen Jones against top competition in more than 2 rounds so I'm interested to see his stamina if it gets to rounds 3-5. Anyway, I dont know why but I just see Rampage pulling off the upset.

I think this will be the fight Jones learns to use his reach and get a decision.
He has to get in close to take him down. I believe Mr. Rampage has himself some pretty good takedown defense. Getting in close enough to take him down is getting in close enough for Rampage to punch him in the face. So obviously keeping it at range is best.

Of course Jones has been entirely unpredicatable and wouldn't want to be upstaged by Silva and Machida. So Jones by decision or by KO with a Pelé Kick.

Also in round 3 he lost to Stephan Bonnar, but that was a while back.
I also have Rampage winning in tko rd 3.

I hope Rampage knocks him out. I still look at Jones as a kid while Rampage is a man and if and when he connects i don't think Jones is going to react well to getting hit with a bomb. He's never tasted power like Rampage. And i'm a big Jones fan but Rampage is my boy!

Re: Jones v. Rampage - UFC 135- SEPT 24- DENVER

The line for Bones / Rampage is:

                -700 Jon Jones
                +450 Rampage

If you really think Rampage is going to win, you can easily make a gigantic profit.

The line to me just feels so "wrong" and at +450 you almost have to give Rampage a small bet even though I think Bones is going to destroy him mercilessly. I think we're going to see a Wanderlei or Shogun style beatdown on Saturday. However, I do think though that Rampage has the best chance outside of maybe Lyoto Machida or Rashad to beat Bones at LHW before he moves up to HW, but that's not saying much either. Rampage is also in-shape and motivated and that will allow him to keep coming forward and taking Bones's best shots, but eventually he'll succumb.

With all of this said, nothing more would please me then to see Bones looking up at the lights on Saturday. But logically and with my head.. yeah, I can't see it.

That looks like a pretty good bet for Rampage even if you think Jones will win. Gomi is on the + side too.

Definitely. I think Gomi is a solid bet, but Diaz should be the favorite.

I've never seen such lopsided odds for the main event and co-main event.

Jones is -700 and Koscheck is -600 right now.

A $25 parlay on Rampage, Hughes, and Gomi right now pays out almost $2000. Now of course the odds on all 3 winning are extremely remote.

I cracked up during the countdown show when Rampage was trying to find out who the spy was and they busted in on a guy in the bathroom. I feel like ever since Jones won the belt, his popularity has gone down and I'm not sure why that is. Rampage says he's cocky but I disagree.

Its because he's facing one of the most popular guys in MMA. If he was facing Rashad people would love him. The situation with Jackson's and Spygate didn't help either.

You would think the situation with Jackson's would have helped him. Evans isn't popular with the fans and most fans hate it when fighters say they won't fight teammates.

I have a feeling that Jones is going to win early and convincingly. I can see Rampage being overly aggressive, and Jones catching him coming in with an elbow/knee.

I would assume the fight would be e pic if it did, so I wouldn't mind that happening.
