Every win came from KO or TKO, with only one making it to the second round and it was against Jon Jones.

I'm hoping that 'Advanced' with 'Sim' changes everything and I feel like it will by reading the comments here. I was 3-2 in the 'Demo' with Jon Jones on 'Advanced' but of course, he's one of the best on the game.
They should have let you have 50 fights so it's possible to go 50-0.

I don't think the game is arcade at all. Yeah, some points are less realistic than others, but it's definitely not arcade, because you have to strategise and plan your next move carefully. Sometimes you can throw recklessly and get somewhere, but usually, careless striking will result in a loss, just like ity should do.

To test this, I took on Denis Kang with Phil Baroni, and came out like Baroni does every time, swinging. I rocked and knocked Kang down within 30 seconds, but after failing to finish the fight, Kang recovered, and Baroni wa too tired to do anything and I ended up getting choked out before the first round was over. Realism there boys.

This is a good strategy against those guys online that come running across the ring just throwing bombs. Weather the attacks with blocking and sways, then go to the body where the openings are. If you can avoid the early KO then you will easily stomp them in the later rounds when they can't throw more than 2 or 3 attacks before gassing.

Steps away out of danger is another good move to get them throwing at air and tiring their fighter.

Just ask this guy how his strategy worked. Punk came out with hand up to touch gloves, I did same and he head kicked me. So he then came out swinging for fences. I used step away to let him swing at air. I then trailed him throwing no punches as he tried working my legs and moving away from me. Finally got his back to the cage, shot in for the take down, pinned him against cage and went to work on his face and body. Ground and Pound 101, not looking for the KO but looking just to wear down and tire him out and he attempted to spam transitions and I just blocked away.

Start of the second round same thing, he comes running across ring and throws a knee to my body then retreats. He kept trying it but I kept pushing forward, with his back against the cage again I shot again for the take down. This is what followed. ***He was to gassed to get me off***

I don't think it's 'Arcade' at all either, unless you throw it on really easy and just got out beat every opponent in 10 seconds. I did the same thing you did with Akiyama and Leben. I lost 2 of the the 3 fights. The first fight I kind of took Akiyama lightly but I rocked him extremely early. Unfortunately, I didn't finish him and he knocked me out with 23 seconds left in the 2nd round.

The second fight I was slightly more stragegic but threw way too many heavy punches and gasses myself early, just like in the first fight. I ended up winning 2 minutes into the second round by KO.

The third fight I finally learned to even everything out and only gasses myself once when I threw a kick within the last minute of the first round. Unfortunately the last 10 seconds of the round, he ended up ground and pounding me so early in the second I got KO'd.

I'll tell you one thing that I hate is how early it seems some fights are stopped. If someone throws three punches and the other person is blocking and moving around, it shouldn't be stopped.

So I put my joe silva/dana white cap on and running the org just did the ufc 145 card in event mode
(Flip coin best out of 3 to determined wich fighter I'm goin to be)

          Main card only

          M.hominik (me) vs m.browns

Was the classic wrestler vs striker fight. Dint do much with my striking since most of the fight was on the ground. Until the 3rd round I got some good clean shots in that rocked him but brown took me down and GNP me fofr a tko victory with 21 seconds left ..now brown is a few wins away from a title shot

          D.paige(me) vs B.Picket

This was and all out. War! As both fighters game relied on there stand up.. fight dint go to the ground oncethe end saw both fighters go for a hook and picket knocked paige out. Just like condit did to hardy. This fight was a blast!

Next fight was the co main even ben rothwell(me) vs shaub
Shaub came out swinging. Got some good shots on big ben but he took him down and taped him out with a leglock/anklelock in 30 seconds. Won SON and the fastest sub win I ever got funny fight

Main even champion jon jones (me) vs suga rashad evans

My game plan plained sucked. Rashad picked me apart in the stand up..
Evans won the 1st round with perfect striking jabs and straights I dint have nothing goin that round
2nd round comes jones used his wrestling to control the whole round...until evans pushes him off throws a beautiful 3 punch combo that rocks jones and finish it off with the TKO victory. To win the title...

Evans is the smartest fight I fought so far just looked like the real suga

if this game had a mode like "World of mixed martial arts" it would be perfect!

Re: Official UFC Undisputed 3 Impressions Thread

So far I'm impressed with the full version.

The submission system I'd change in a heartbeat. It's terrible.

But I'm having a blast otherwise. They listened from the 2010 criticism and did a good job with being rocked more and KO'd less. I also like the ground improvements. Stats do seem to matter - blocking doesn't always work, sometimes they get through it - so they've sort of mixed 2009's system with some stat influence, which I think it working well.

Just had two fights with George S. vs Gomi in Pride. I lost the first via decision and won the second by submission with maybe 30 seconds left. The fights were both fun as hell; there's a lot of variety and one thing I've noticed is that moves don't always end up in the same position like the last two years. I've had my takedown attempts end in various standing clinch positions as well as completed attempts into half and full guard. So they've added a little variety, which I thought they really lacked in the first two games.

The sub system is only terrible if you go for them constantly and don't wait for the right openings. I really think this takes EA's 'zone' system and pretty much perfects it. It is so well balanced.

Nay - it's terrible to me because it takes you completely out of the game and becomes cops and robbers / cat and mouse.

                It really has no place.

I like the system, i think the graphic should be less intrusive.

The new submission system is the only thing I hate about the game. It's difficult to do something that makes your opponents tap seconds quickly like in some fights. I really prefer button-mashing for this part and watch the players struggle for it.

I'm really happy with what they've done in terms of rocked/ko/stoppage. I had a 3 round war with Nog, me being Rua. I got rocked 2-3 times, but this year the game gives you control over that - so I was able to tie up each time and avoid the stoppage. On top of that - I'm not just getting KO'd because I'm hurt, which is great.

It's leading to more decisions - which is a nice change. There are still enough KO's and stoppages to make me happy, though.

                          they did a good job.
