Whats next for Evans: Rua? Rampage? Machida?

I think Rampage would be a good send off fight for him, but I think that would be a lose lose for Rashad.
A Machida rematch would be interesting though.

How about Forrest rematch if he beats Tito?

Rampage is gone. He is over there in Asia releasing rap albums. So I highly doubt we will ever see him back in the UFC.

I say let Rashad fight Gustavson or Bader.

I don't think Rashad should get Gustaf at all. Gustaf should get Bader.

Rashad should match with Rua since they've never fought.

Put Machida against Phil Davis.

Rampage will fight again. He has one more fight on his contract and will want the money.

On another note, I just watched the fight again and its amazing how much different it sounds than watching it live. At the fight, I swear it sounded like 90% of the crowd cheered for Jones when his music kicked in. But on the broadcast, all I could hear was boos.

Give Gustaf Bader, and then maybe one more guy to get a title shot. I really don't think he should go up against Machida or Evans before getting a shot. It'd be a waste IMO.

Jon Jones:

"Alexander Gustfasson I think is pretty close to a title shot," he said last week. "I think if maybe he wins two more fights against some top guys like maybe Lyoto [Machida] or Rashad [Evans] or somebody who can push him in different categories. I would like to see him against a wrestler, and I would like to see him against a worthy striker, then a title shot would be very appropriate."

Gustafsson was never truly in the running to fight Jones next anyway, since Dan Henderson had been queued up as the next challenger for quite some time.

As Gustafsson's risen up the ladder though, there have been increased comparisons between him and Jones. But while the 24-year-old champ is impressed by Gustafsson, he doesn't quite see a reflection of himself.

"I think the only similarity is that we’re both tall, and that’s it," he said. "We are completely different athletes. I have a wrestler-base where I shoot and throw from the clinch. I kick fast and accurate. He has really great boxing. I like his demeanor, though. He has some swagger. That kid has swagger. He exudes winning the second he steps in the cage. I realize that about him. But I think the kid has the potential to be a star. Sweden just loves him. And I saw that he just has 'it,' and I’m excited for him."

I agree. I remember this article was posted on this forum days after his fight in Japan and Rampage sounds enthusiastic about fighting again.

I had definitely vouched for Rasha v Shogun

But I think all of the fallen victims of Jones should build back up somewhat slowly.

So true. The last thing I want to see is Machida vs JonesII followed by Shogun vs JonesII followed by Rashad vs Jones II. Really hope that Gustafsson will be ready to challenge for the title late 12 early 13.
