      Breaking news.......

Even Anderson Silva offered to fight on 8 days notice to save UFC 151.

If Jones turned down Chael on 8 days, you know he was going to turn down Silva lol

EDIT: Ariel clarified by saying it was Silva vs a TBH LHW and not Jones. Still would've been nice to see Silva fight again.

I was going to post that question earlier, but decided I just must of not heard or read it correctly. Dana announced it before ever talking to Machida. If you listened to his manager or whoever it was, they said they hadn't even been able to reach him yet as he was driving in the middle of nowhere without cell service.

Dana has got to stop making announcements if he hasn't gotten signed or verbal agreements.

A LHW? I wonder if he is planing a move or just because he couldn't cut weight that quickly.

              Re: UFC 151 - Jones vs. Hendo - Sept 1 - Vegas

Hell even Chris Weidman offered to fight on short notice. Everybody jumping at the bit to fight again and Jones who is in fight shape says no ??

I mean Anderson Silva just fought, don't even live in the USA and he offered to fight outside of his weight class on 8 days notice. IMO he has way more to lose then Jones and still didn't give a crap, he was willing to fight outside his weight class to save the card.

Jones taking this stuff for granted. Got dudes hungry as hell and willing to fight on short notice. I guess when you making millions you forget where you come from. That money went to Jones head.

You can't call yourself undisputed champ if you ducking fights. That is some Mayweather type of BS. Selectively fighting people. You the champ, you take on all comers. You in fighting peak shape, so what if the opponent gets changed at the last minute due to injury.

And I sure as hell don't know why Machida declined like a dumb butt. Now he has to fight somebody else and climb his way back into title contention. There is no guarantee will ever get a title shot in 2013.

Because if Chael Sonnen or Shogun have an outstanding performance in their next fight, they might leap frog Machida and get the next title shot.

              Dumb Machida.......

              Dumb Jones......

MMA you better not turn into boxing....

Silva naturally walks around at 210-215......so it was more of he couldn't cut weight in a week's time to 185. But he could cut down to 205 in a week's time.

This is all Jon Jones' fault IMO. If only he accepts Sonnen, there wouldn't be this bizarre series of events. Damn Jonny, I thought you're a fighter who would fight ANYBODY put in front of you? You're not deserving to be called a Champ, son.

Seriously Machida? Give the damn shot to Gus then, but Belfort? My lasting images of him are still of Silva's foot in his face.

For everyone that keeps complaining about how weak the card was or how weak the cards have been lately, can you honestly name the last event that hasn't been changed by injury?

I love having MMA to watch regularly. Hell, I wish there were more fight cards.

                        Couture
                        Rampage
                        Evans
                        Forrest
                        Rua

Thats just the LHW list. Jones isnt some great draw. He's been the beneficiary of co-headlining fights with guys who are draws (Evans, Rampage and Rua). He hasnt proven that he can draw over 500k on his own. So Jones hasnt made that much money for the UFC. Jones is carrying himself like he's a million PPV draw and he isnt. Even with all the heat he had for the Evans fight, he only drew around 600k.

Its obvious u havent read many of the posts here. The UFC is paying each fighter his show money AND rescheduling each fight.

Sure he hasn't made them money as much as those guys that have been fighting in the big league for YEARS, but he has made them some money not to mention gotten them a bit more exposure, it's not like he's keith jardine or someone like that, they do rely on him to headline shows obviously....sorry for not sifting through all 15 pages of the thread. I see they are rescheduling the fights, and it's good they are paying the fighters our a little something.

If Dana wants MMA to gain more "legitimacy" then he has to handle himself as such. It's sad to see him trash fighters that have fought hard, put on exciting shows, and gained them lots of money. I mean really who else does that?? Just say he turned down the fight and move on, i hate when people in power especially point the finger instead of taking responsibility. I like Dana, but I hate the way he handles things like this and trashes people in press conferences, interviews, and twitter.

3 weeks to get into fighting shape for a title shot, he could do it but it's not ideal for what likely would be his last shot at the title. I don't blame him. He is promised the next shot anyway. He doesnt have to step up on short notice. It's not like he was already scheduled to fight on the card for a different opponent, was in fighting shape, and then ducked a Middleweight coming off a loss.

Man this is really messed up. Vitor? Good for him for stepping up but now who fills his spot in Brazil?

This is only going to infuriate Sonnen, who you know would've been there next week or a month from now. Get ready for him to do interviews with everyone ripping on Jones.

This keeps getting brought up. Mayweather is no more of a ducker than Pacquiao in the situation. And Mayweather ducking other fighters? You kidding me? He beats guys who become contenders and then sends them off to Pacquiao two years later. Pacquiao fights the scraps of fighters that mayweather already went through, so this whole selectively fighting people? get a clue - Totally different situation as to why that fight hasn't happened and FAR from being a coward like Jones just showed.

Everything else though in your post, I'd agree with
