Re: EA Has Acquired the UFC License, Will Develop New UFC Game

Dana White is a true boss when it comes to promotion and growth of his sport but he sounded very unappreciative of what THQ did for him. They took a chance with him when EA considered an allegiance with him and his organization a complete joke and bad business(I know it's an EA event but damn, I would have thought THQ did absolutely nothing for him). Talking all that "Finally" trash. Oh well, good for him and the UFC.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

That's business. THQ sold an active license to EA, UFC has to make good with it's new partner. In business you move forward, you don't dwell in the past, that relationship for ll intents and purposes, is over.

Also if EA knows how to do one thing its marketing. The first EA/UFC game will be all over the place with ads. This could help further legitimize the UFC.
Oh I completely agree, I think with all of their advertising, that the game should sell around what the first game did, not like the last two.

I actually preferred EA's MMA to the last 2 UFC's. The submissions were way more intuitive.

I'm tentative about this news. On one hand, I thought EA MMA was a solid effort, but I still enjoyed UFC 3 better. And EA gives me the heebie-jeebies, as they keep messing up nearly any series I enjoy that they produce.

I do hope that with the high profile nature of now having UFC, they put more effort into the game. I'd like to see them offer an impressive roster list, and I truly hope the Pride mode is included. I'll definitely hang onto UFC 3 until I know this new game will be what I'm looking for.

I enjoyed EA MMA, and EA always has the money/support. Now with a huge license they'll put way more money into MMA (compared to when it first came out).

I'm optimistic that EA can build on MMA and come up with a great game.
I hope so mate, I wasn't as keen on EA MMA after I played the latest UFC game but hopefully now with the UFC license they'll go all out on it and make a great but most impotantly realistic game.

I preferred EA MMA to any of the UFC games. At least to me the game felt better and I had much more fun playing the game than the UFC games. Look forward to playing this when it comes out.

The game should be way better now.

At first I was wow'd but THQ hasn't really make the game that much better anyways. I think EA could do some nice things if given the time. Online modes will for sure be better, that's for sure.

If you don't think they 3 was an improvement on 2009 and 2010, we've been playing different games.
