Re: UFC 220: Miocic vs Ngannou

Stipe needs to stick to volume, straight punches and revert back to his wrestling.. he also needs to check the leg kick since the success JDS had with it, im certain Ngannou will follow suit.

Ngannou should look to counter and wait for Stipe to over extend and then blast him with something. He should blast that leg whenever it is open aswell, make Stipe hesitant.

I can't really decide on who will win, I think Miocic is way more well rounded but Ngannou is a freak of nature so any advantage Stipe has in technique is cancelled out.

Here's the proof that big Ngannou punches can be eaten lol.

I think Ngannou is gonna knock him out. Stipe gets hit. Overeem had him in trouble. Ngannou is good at hitting people (solid accuracy.... can punch going backwards... solid counter punching ability). So yeah. Last minute decision. I got Ngannou.
Yh I saw that fight. Everyone has different thresholds and chins. I'm sure there are some other guys out there too that may be able to take Ngannou's blows. But he's definitely not the guy you wanna test your chin with. As far as this match goes though, we have seen guys with less heavy hands rock and even finish Stipe. If he takes a flush blow from Ngannou it's not gonna go well for him at all trust me. I'd even say Ngannou probably hit's harder now than he did back then like you were stating. Ngannou looked wild back then and has since cleaned up his technique now. And if you know anything about striking, you'll know that sometimes just cleaning up and perfecting your technique can make some difference in power.

This is somewhat reminiscent of Aldo/Conor for me. Not on the same level but it reminds me of it. One guy with a ton of hype and a lot of mystery behind how the fight is going to go. Aldo/Conor was pretty 50/50 at the time like this from what I remember.

While Ngannou is a freak of nature... I think he also has a knack for striking and timing. Also speed and power as well obviously. The question is how he's going to deal with a straight punch heavy style. If Stipe was to throw a lot of circular punches.... He'd almost certainly get KO'd.

Ngannou's jab is improving and he does fight off it a lot as well though.

I have no idea at all though. We also just haven't seen enough of Ngannou to know too much. Also developing fast right now.

I hope he wins though. It'll do wonders for the HW division. I like Stipe but yeah.

          Preview & Review: UFC 220

          UFC 220- Boston, Massachusetts

Pretty good card to start the year. At least the top two, but the rest have potential. This is also going head to head with Bellator 192.

Rogan, Anik, and Cruz on commentary.

I would imagine at least a few underdog wins on the main card.

I would like to see Miocic get the record.

Ngannou could always rise back up, and think what a beast he would be then.

Werdum will most likely get the winner so if Ngannou wins, we will get to see alot more of his game if we dont see it in this fight.

Miocic should win if he utilises a lot of quick, straight punches and grappling. I think he'll have to be able to take Ngannou's power to win. The other problem is how strong Ngannou is. Cisse (the only guy to beat Ngannou) had to take several hard shots to win. Ngannou landed flush and hard on him. And he can probably hit harder now than he could back then.

Anyone got any insight or wanna lay their chips down on this fight?
I have it 90/10. Whoever is 90% or 10% is a coin flip.

I can't believe Francis manhandled Overeem in the clinch. Reem is clinch expert.

Yh man. That was just a case of strength overwhelming technique. Ngannou is stupid strong.

I have Burgos in this next fight against Kattar

Solid boxing and slips. I haven't seen much of Kattar, but he may have superior kicks and grappling as Burgos specializes in boxing for MMA.

Yh i'm going Burgos too. Definitely one of the best boxers i've seen in mma as of late.

Kattar has a much better jab than I expected.

Kattar with superior striking taking Burgos 0.

                              Holy **** Kattar!!!

That’s the second guy he’s shut down, surely gets top 10/15 next.
