Re: UFC 228: Woodley v Till
I don't know why but I'm not completely sold on Zabit yet. He's good yes but can he beat Frankie, Ortega, Mendes, Jose Aldo, Jeremy Stephens or the champ. I don't know.Comment

Re: UFC 228: Woodley v Till
Being said, Till is no McGregor. A lot of people including myself may have been thinking Till is a McGregoresque character with the forward pressure southpaw swag, but there’s a huge difference. Till’s tools are extremely limited, even his left is a bit wild and loopy. He seems like he has the presence, has he size, has he confidence, has the phantom pressure... but lacks the tools. Woodley just did exactly what he said he would... beat him everywhere and beat him with experience.
I know it’s easy to say after the fight... but we shoulda known, guys. This was a bit of a mismatch. Till beat an over-the-hill LW, and arguably lost to Thompson. Woodley has been getting Ws against top level competition.
McGregor vs Khabib is the REAL fight of 2018. A super competitive, well matched fight. McGregor has the presence and pressure, but ALSO the tools to back it up. Khabib is a 26-0 wrecking machine. That’s a fight that CAN’T disappoint. Till vs Woodley, well, did. It was a mismatch that deep down, we all suspected the fight could turn out to be.
My takeaways from this fight is that
A)Till lacks tools. He isn’t a very smart, or highly skilled fighter. He has the presence, but he’s one dimensional. No spinning kick, no jabs, no lead uppercuts... it’s just a hard wild left.
B) Woodley is for real. And he’s well rounded. And he’s likely the best welterweight in the world. There is some new talent we saw tonight, and some more established guys like Colby and Usman... perhaps they’ll be a better challenge for TWood but as of tonight, Woodley is the best WW.
Till has a complete striking arsenal but Woodley is that dangerous. If anyone is dumb enough to open up against him they’re getting slept or taken down.
Honestly this makes me wish Connor did fight Woodley cuz I believe it’d look just like this fight except it’d be over in the 1st.Comment

Re: UFC 228: Woodley v Till
It's funny Till practically threw nothing in round 1, and in round 2 Rogan says Till should start to attack, and the first offense he threw he got dropped.
That slip was nice by Woodley, and Woodley was prepared for a left high kick. (He blocked the one that was thrown pretty well)
I see some similarities between Till and Conor, but their striking is quite different.Comment

Re: UFC 228: Woodley v Till
Woodley was saying the same thing about Darren Till VS Wonderboy. He was surprised, he thought Till would rush in and get countered, but he took his time, and played the long game.
Till was doing a similar thing the first round with Woodley. The fight went pretty much the way I thought it would (but with more clinching from Woodley).
Then Till went into the 2nd round with a chip on his shoulder....
This is why you get fights where people land 30 safe strikes in 5 rounds. Cuz if they don't they end up throwing just that one.Comment

Re: UFC 228: Woodley v Till
Yh. The mistake Till made is he came into Woodley's range and that's when things get dangerous. If you're gonna stand with Woodley, safest strategy is actually the way Wonderboy fought him tbh, even though it was boring. That's why I was saying Till needed to fight the way he did against Wonderboy, pick his shots, attack from distance and be ready for when Woodley explodes. He made the mistake of coming into Woodley's range with the undercut to straight left and Woodley caught him with the outside slip to right hand. And that's a classic counter to the southpaw left hand, which show's Woodley ain't just some guy swinging with a big right hand. His counter game is on point too.Last edited by WarMMA; 09-09-2018, 03:56 PM.Comment

Yh sound like her kidneys started to take a dive. The last thing the UFC wants is a dead fighter due to kidney failure as a result of trying to cut too much weight too fast.Comment

Amen. Bad for Dana and the company, not to mention her own health. Did she even realize what effects it could have had on her health?Comment
