Re: I seriously don't...........
I really dont know ethier. I guess if a guy has a belt for to long, he starts to wear on ppls nerves. Same thing happened with HHH when he was the champ...for what seemed to be 3 straight years. I actually like Cena and HHH, its just when everyone else hates a guy, its easy to jump on the bandwagon and hope he fails.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group) -
Re: I seriously don't...........
Some people just because its the cool internet thing to do. Others are because he has become very stale, esepcially from his debut. He does the same thing over and over and the WWE.com homepage will always say "cena overcomes the odds". Also, he has about 4 moves.Comment

Re: I seriously don't...........
I was going to make a Cena thread, but I might as well post this here. People dislike his wrestling ability or lack thereof. I think he still has potential in the ring its just untapped. His character makes him out to be a brawler, but I've seen his early matches they were good. My problem with Cena is not Cena himself its with WWE. Their killing him and any momentum he had. Maria and Cena????? You gotta be kidding me why doesn't he freestyle anymore? Why kill off what made him popular? Let Cena be Cena he's not the Rock or Austin
Another thing The way they build him up like overcoming the odds like someone mentioned. I like Cena he has awesome mic skills, can become a good wrestler and plays the heel role excellently. I just don't like what WWEs creative team is doing with him. Its no coincidence that he was getting better pops after he lost to Edge so why put the belt back on him? Just so he could lose to HHH at Mania whateverLast edited by 1StUnA; 02-08-2006, 04:02 PM.Comment

Re: I seriously don't...........
Cena's persona grates on my nerves. He has good mic skills but it gets tiresome. I also dislike how they make him out to be this guy overcoming every obstacle in his way.
I saw Cena's very first match in WWE and I thought he had a lot of good in ring potential but WWE slowly but surely robbed him of his repertoire. He's dumbed down his moveset to excite the fans. I'd prefer a champ that uses more then 5 moves in a match.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

He's a bad wrestler. He looked like he had potential when he first came on the scene, but he's gotten worse. Maybe he got lazy once he started to get over.
And I hate his character. He's become the king of cheap pops.
But I agree, I don't know why people love Edge either.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: I seriously don't...........
Honestly, his character doesn't even bother me that much. Some of his promos are damn funny(like that one with Boogeyman, Snitsky, Tomko, etc).
I just can't stand what he does in the ring. The match at the Royal Rumble was a perfect example. I think he hit like five moves: spinning side slam, clothesline, five knuckle shuffle, F-U, and STF-U(which is a horrible finisher, IMO). The same five moves he uses every Monday on Raw.
PPVs are a place where you're supposed to expand your arsenal, make sure the fans get their money's worth, etc. I know those are his trademark moves, so he had to use them at some point in the match, but couldn't he have thrown anything else in?
And it's not only that, but it's the way he does it. He gets a few punches in early, then gets beat up for awhile, then he strings his four signature moves together, goes for the F-U, but fails, gets beat for awhile more, and then when it looks like he's about to lose, he hits the F-U and wins. Every match.
I've only started watching wrestling again a few months ago after taking a couple years away from it, so I don't know how the guy performed when he started out or how much the E toned him down. But I don't think I've seen him do more than seven different wrestling moves over the last four months. He's just not World Champ material, IMO.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Re: I seriously don't...........
Also i just started watching wrestling again in December so that was my first gettin to watch Cena..I tried to hate him a good bit b/c it seemed everyone else and when he won the Elimination chamber i was pissed and happy to see Edge come out and win..But after thinking about it Edge appeals to me less a Champion then Cena..I think Cena would be much better in the Intercontinental Divsiion to be honest but I wanted to hate him but lately i've just got used to him and like some stuff he does and dislike someLet's Get Ready To Rumble!Comment

Re: I seriously don't...........
I think you get the gist from everyones previous posts so no need for me to follow up. I dont hate Cena, but when it comes to this storyline ive always been a fan of the heels that are sort of "on the edge" and "cocky" like the rock was, like HBK was, and thats why I like Edge more. Im also a huge Carlito and HHH fan.Comment

How many moves did Austin have? And I'm not talking about Stunning Steve, I'm talking about WWF World Champion Steve. Yet noone would say Austin isn't champ material or would be better served in the IC division. Why?Comment

i hate edge with a passion! christian was the one they should have pushed to the top, not edge.
cena is cool. and i think he'd make a damn good heel. i don't like the idea of linking him womantically with maria. don't get me wrong, imo she's sexy as all out doors, but his charcter doesn't need that angle.Comment

Edge is just a more entertaining guy to me. I usually don't like the cocky arrogant gimmick, but Edge pulls it off easily and completely.Rose City 'Til I Die

I like Edge to. Now. I hated him for a good while but he grew on me when he was champ. Plays a good heel, has a decent moveset and is'nt afraid to take some major bumps. Is'nt that all we want out of a champ?http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
