Why Exactly does TNA use the 6-sided Ring?

I don't get it. They had the normal ring in Nashville, why did they switch it up? I was watching the Christopher Daniels DVD and I thought about how much I hate that thing. If there was explanaion, I missed it. Please, someone, explain? Is there even an explanation?

They changed from the squared circle because of them changing to a wrestling alternative. To move towards a new generation.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure if it was ever explained aside form the more generic explanation I was seeing around the web.

BTW, it's kind of funny that you would give me an answer. I was going to add an "I'm looking at you, Truth" but I wasn't sure if you would get to it anytime soon.

I have to agree with BG, the ring looks stupid.

It would be like someone making an alternate form of football, making it indoors, 50 yard field and hockey type sidelines, then calling it football.

I can think of other ways. I don't really "feel" the 6 sided ring myself but it isn't something that'll stop me from watching the product from time to time.

As for other ways of differentiating themselves: go with Mexican rules. I watched the old WCW produced AAA/MLL joint PPV and Mexican wrestling is some of the craziest stuff i've ever seen.

I don't like the ring myself, esspecially after watching what guys like Christopher Daniels, Low-Ki, Samoa Joe, etc. can do in a normal ring. But it doesn't make me not watch TNA. It's just another thing to complain about. After all, I watch wrestling and go on the interent.
