      Re: Major ECW Change

Its funny. Vince takes control of show #1 and it sucks but gets good ratings because its the first show and people dont know what to expect. Then he gives Heyman control for show #2 and the ratings drop because show #1 sucked ***. He then takes most of the control back for show #3. Gotta love the logic in that little world only Vince seems to live in.

I guess this mean no big push for CM Punk.

I wish I had the Decision Power that Vince had, I dont think my man is as dumb or as STupid as anyone thinks...Look at his bank account

But To ECW , I never really understoo why they were bringing this back to be honest..They have like what 3 good guys? Sabu, RVD and Maybe Tommy Dreamer? I'd rather them just united and Came on RAW and went after people, Sorta like they have just with no Shows. I also just wish they'd just go back to having 2 tv shows..Raw and Smackdown but both of them having the Same guys..No seperate Rosters...I know a lot of us feel that way so hopefully one day it happens

That is very upsetting. I think we all were hoping the new ECW would have some resemblance to what we used to watch. This obviously just isn't going to happen now. As a former ECW fan it is very frustrating. This new ECW version won't be around long if they are taking it in another direction. The old ECW fed off of the fans energy and enthusiasm. The new WECW is taped the same night in the same venue with smackdown. No wonder you don't get ECW crowds and the crowd is dead. They are WWE fans. This all just sucks, I'm rambling on and I'm pissed about them bringing back ECW to disgrace everything ECW was about.

                Re: McMahon taking over ECW.

I never really knew what to expect from this "ECW". At the very least, I was hoping for shows at smaller venues. That's without question the biggest reason why I became an ECW fan. To see the best wrestlers in the world, guys who were on TV, in the Apter mags, guys who were legends amongst the tape traders making their first appearances in the US...that's what got me into ECW. To see some of the best up close and personal again was going to be great. Forget all these other indies. I knew WWE guys were going to be a part of this. To be able to heckle them as if I was in the Madhouse of Extreme again would've made it more than worth it.

I was hoping Vince would realize that there was a whole other wrestling crowd out there. While I love the WWE-style (whatever that means to you), I still need some of that work-rate friendly stuff. I still wanted to see Paul Heyman have at least some power over a show. I wanted to see some workers who would never make it on Raw or SmackDown get that chance under Paul Heyman. I wanted there to be three disctinct brands (SmackDown is booked almost exactly like WCW circa '92-94). It could've been true world domination for Vince. Again, he throws it away.

I always knew this wasn't going to be ECW, hence my "ECW" tag. I just figured we'd get something a little different. Unfourtunatley, aside from ONS, "ECW" was like a supplemental show to Raw.

I never thought we would get a "reunion" showm, nor did I want one. I wanted new blood. I wanted Punk.

The only bad to come out of this was getting my hopes up. I thought this venture was going to be worthy of using the name. They really should've just kept it dead after ONS I.

                  Re: McMahon taking over ECW.

Paul Heyman actually put together some of last Tuesday's ECW show, however, when Vince McMahon and the rest of WWE creative team saw what he came up with, they tore apart most of Heyman's ideas. Although, Heyman booked Sabu's match and the RVD/Angle angle. The rest of the show - the middle portion - came from McMahon and his minions on the WWE creative team.

Several ECW wrestlers from the glory days were not at Tuesday's show. Basically, the ECW individuals you saw on television were the only ECW individuals who were actually at the show. The likes of Balls Mahoney, Stevie Richards, Justin Credible, Francine, etc ... stayed home.

The general feeling by people in position of power in WWE is, "Why do we need a Danny Doring, Justin Credible, Steven DeAngelis, the referees, etc ... when we have fifty workers in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling?"

                  -----------

I have this bad feeling that after the 12 week run on Sci-Fi, ECW might not be no longer around. That is such a shame, unless Vince uses it to bring up talent from OVW and DSW mixed with some of the older ECW talent. Then it might not be too bad, but my general feeling is that VKM really has not faith in what Heyman can do and he thinks that he is going to do better with his vision of ECW 2006.

Can VKM's vision work? I think it can as long as he continues to use some of the old concepts of old ECW with some new fresh ideas.

I like Mike Knox who I think can really shine in this ECW and be built up to move to Smackdown and then on to RAW. If VKM is smart, he can use the ECW brand to build up younger stars by introducing them to a smaller audience and getting them ready for the 2 bigger shows.

I think that Test can have a rejuvenation in his career in this ECW especially with Kurt Angle leaving soon due to injuries. It's put up or shut up time for the McMahon's.

That's 100% true. They should've done that from the jump and then Heyman would still be in control.

I still think that they should keep guys like Dorring and Credible on the roster. Mix it up with some OVW and DSW talent to help build them up for RAW and SD.

Sandman, Balls, Sabu and the FBI. Those were the only guys they got behind. Keep them and get rid of the glorified jobbers.

totally agree... I still think ECW may work... just not as anyone imagined... As I have always said I hate this reunion tour crap they were trying... I want to see the new talent... and it looks like that's what WWE wanted... The ECW faithful on the other hand wanted the same guys from 7 years ago and quite frankly that was never going to work... I'm all for the new guys and keeping the top old ECW guys and if WWE can pull that off then more power to them as it fits how I imagined the new ECW.

All I want to say is that WWE and Vince McMahon has sucked since the death of WCW and ECW and that's a fact.

Thanks God that I have no interest in watching wresting anymore.

This ECW is a joke, not so much because of venues or the roster but because of the way WWE is presenting ECW. Extreme Rules matches, Joey Styles and Tazz being tools, Invasion II...it's just really awful.
