What did I miss? What did RVD do that made Vince mad, or to have been suspended for?

The show was ok. Test doesn't belong there.

Just a bad job so far in creating a good TV show.
It's VKM, he doesn't care whose legacy he takes a leak on. It's a real shame if you ask me and they are not taking the time to build good feuds or nothing. I agree that every week Sandman is beating someone up that's a waste of tv time, Justin Credible should have never been jobbed the way he was, and Al Snow should not even be wrestling.

Mike Knox has actually been pushed really well, but he can't speak on the mic. He sounds horrible.

Why was Big Show given the belt? I think that it should have been given to an ECW wrestler instead of a WWE wrestler. I know they really don't have much on this roster, but they could have given it to The Sandman to hold on even though the guy can't wrestle.

Oh no...a WWE wrestler won the World title of a WWE brand?! The sky is falling...ahhhhh...Big Show won a title that the WWE made up and called the "ECW" Championship. There's no arguement. Big Show is the closest on that roster to a World Champ. Sandman as champ? Watch the ratings plumet.

"But Big Show isn't ECW". Well, neither is "ECW". Get over it.

There was no way that they had 3,000 in there, no way. When Michael Jackson impersonator has front row seats, tickets had to be available at the start of the show. When I saw those little kids behind the announce table at the begining of the show, I knew it was over. At least hat guy was there!

The show was squash matches and the Main Event. I thought the match was fine. A wild brawl, a few spots, RVD still booked strong. Oh, I jumped out of my couch when I saw that Pepsi tat. If "ECW" is a place for the guys between OVW and the main roster, I'm fine with that. After all, the guys in ECW were in a similar spot.

          And about this legacy garbage...
          ENOUGH!

If Hat Guy can go to the show last night (after going to the show at the ECW Arena), there's no way a casual fan can say anything. And unless you went to shows, you were a casual fan. Television didn't do ECW justice.

          Sorry guys,

The legacy of ECW, Funk, Douglas, Tazz, Raven, Sandman, RVD, Show!!!!
It's like when The Rock and all those other guys won WCW Championships during the InVasion. It wasn't like wininng the real thing. There's no legacy behind the title that the Big Show won last night. If you can't figure that out, you are clearly ********.

Just because some weirdo loser accepts this ECW doesn't mean everyone else has to. Having "Extreme Rules" matches, awful commentary, no storyline development, repetitive shows...whether it's ECW, WWE, ECWWE, WWECW, it's still boring and not worth watching. Yet I'll probably watch again next week so I guess they are doing something right.

Well, now it can follow in that ECW legacy of closing down.

JJ, I have been trying to look at this version of ECW with an open mind. I have been happy that OVW guys are getting some good TV time before they get sent to RAW or SD now, it will allow fans to connect with them. This version of ECW is a bastard, VKM is only using the "ECW" name + Paul Heyman to draw fans in.

When RVD comes back from his suspension, this turns into worker vs. boss ROUND #323545623634. Why would they do that? It's getting old. Please, Please..........I don't want to see any Paul Heyman vs. RVD matches.

WWE marketed this as the return of ECW. Heyman had the b*lls to say this was a new version which I have accepted, but I'm having a hard time accepting Big Show as champ. I like Big Show also and think for a big man, he moves around fairly well in the ring. I guess I'll just have to give it sometime and see how this plays out with Big Show.

Again, this is what hurts TNA...........1 hour of ECW programming a week is no good. If WWE wants to bring back ECW, turn Smackdown to ECW and combine the main rosters. 1 hour of programming doesn't allow for anyone to develop, we get 2-3 squash matches + a main event that is given 20 minutes with 2 commercial breaks, and no tag team wrestling. The only "Extreme" thing that they have done so far is Kelly, and they could get away with her doing this stuff on SD's time slot as all she is doing is dancing around. Again, unless they get an extra hour from Sci-Fi channel.

Re: ***Official ECW on SciFi 7/4/06 Spoilers & Live Discussion Thread***

After thinking about this overnight, I guess I'm not as upset about Big Show taking the title as I was last night.

For one, if RVD doesn't get picked up for weed, we wouldn't be having this conversation. So I guess for the first part, we all should be a little upset with Van Dam, but hey, it happens.

Also, with having to take the title off RVD, but also keeping him the top face in the new ECW, you needed a screwjob ending to establish a top heel. Would a "regular" ECW guy have been able to be elicit the fan reaction in South Philly like Big Show did last night? I don't think so. So I almost see it as VKM/Heyman's hands were tied. If they have RVD drop the belt to say someone like Dreamer, Sandman, etc., we're still left with no real "feuds" at the top. Now, with someone like Show as the champ (at least for a month), that could bring out the people like Dreamer and others to try and bring the title back "home," only to have RVD make his triumphant return in a month to do just that, once again becoming top dog.

One hour of TV hurts this product horribly, and I'm hoping that after its 12-week trial run, the ratings are good enough for the show to move to USA and maybe get that extra hour slot. I don't think I'm the only one who remembers just how horrible TNA on Fox Sports Net was during its run. Heck, TNA on Spike still suffers from horrible shows since it's only an hour long, but at least they have a monthly PPV were they can set up some feuds and see them come to fruition.

I think that it would be great if they could build up CM Punk over the next month or so and then have him take the title from Big Show. Hopefully RVD learns his lesson that doing this crap has cost him big time, 2 World Championships + a suspension.

All I'm saying is why not give the promotion a different name then? If they wanted ECW why not let it be ECW, if they wanted what they are doing now, why not call it something else under a WWE banner? To me, it's just nothing but a joke for Vinnie Mac.

I have a few friends that are mentally challenged, and it's nothing to be joking about. Mods should really look into the immaturity on this wrestling forum.
