The angle doesn't work for two main reasons. One being that DX already has done this angle on nWo therefore this is just seen as a lame ripoff. Two when DX did it they actually had a superstar in Triple H leading the charge as opposed to two midcarders who have only been over when they were part of DX and have done nothing since.

2) At the time when he was in D-X and did the entire Invasion of WCW angle, HHH wasn't even that big...nowhere near the superstar he is today. He was a midcarder as well so that point has no bearing either.
Um yeah he did but that had nothing to do with D-X invading WCW...that was a completely different angle. It was when Bischoff first joined the nWo.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: DX sucks (Turning Point Video)
2) Wrestling was a lot more popular. WWF was selling out arenas with paid customers and touring the country. TNA stays in the same extremely small building and gives away free tickets.
3) WWF was live. Being a live show, there was more of an element of surprise and that anything could happen.
4) If you remember the angle, it wasn't just "we hate WCW." It was that two of our friends are stuck there, and we want to get them back.
5) You say that maybe some people don't remember the WCW angle. This angle is clearly being directed at smarks. If not, why would they call Triple H and HBK, Paul Levesque and Michael Hickenbottom.
It's just a dumb angle. TNA should be marketing themselves as an alternative to WWE, not a lame ripoff. Besides the hicks that attend TNA tapings, I doubt many people watch TNA for Mr. *** and Road Dogg. By the time both those guys left WWE, they were already viewed as lame and stale.Comment

Re: DX sucks (Turning Point Video)
i found the dx invading wcw a little funny....yet i was 16 when renegade stuff was cool
this isnt comparing wwf invading wcw. its more of ecw trying to be considered a "big company" and doing the BWO.
tna isnt in the same league as wwe. its like the nfl vs college, except besides the rookies and young guys, old has beens are able to come as well imo
how about this, say TNA existed in the late mid 90s, where would they rank then?
it would either be-
wcw
wwf
ecw
tna
or
wwf
wcw
ecw
tna
if it couldnt compete in the last boom, how is it going to compete against one GIANT monopoly (well not really a monopoly)
but my main point is the first one, making fun of your competitors if for children and teens, i dont see the point as an adult. I work for Microsoft (an example) lets go pick on macintosh or vice versa, just immature (maybe a bad analogy i dont know about computers that much)Comment

Re: DX sucks (Turning Point Video)
I never said how great TNA was or that they did everything perfectly...learn how to friggin' read. If you would've actually followed my posts, you would've seen that I said TNA screws a lot of stuff up. I'm not even a huge TNA mark, just making the point that I think the VKM stuff is funny and entertaining.
Doesn't really matter, ROH ---> all.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

I'm just saying that when the WWE did it, they did it for controversy, ratings, and for everyone to talk about them...this is exactly what TNA is doing with this VKM stuff. It's really no different when it comes down to it.
There was really no other reason for the D-X invasion angle other than to try and gain a foothold in the Monday Night War and bring viewers in and create ratings...I think TNA is trying to do just that except there really isn't a wrestling war between the WWE and TNA. Having said that, I think TNA believes that there is one so they need to do stuff like this to generate a buzz.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

LOL I do remember them giving out the results to RAW when it was still taped and Bischoff calling out Vince for the longest time for a match at a PPV when he first joined the nWo.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: DX sucks (Turning Point Video)
which is part of what made it good. BOTH sides ripping on each other and admiting they existed. as long as wwe doesnt acknowledge tna this is a complete waste of time and does nothing but make them look cheapComment

Re: DX sucks (Turning Point Video)
I guess my hope in all of this is that we will see some sort of retaliation or acknowledgement from D-X or the WWE as a whole...it'd sure make things interesting. That's why I'm giving this angle a chance, just to see where it goes.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment
