***Smackdown No Way Out 02/18/07 Discussion Thread***

World Heavyweight Champion Batista & Undertaker vs. WWE Champion John Cena & HBK

In a dream match made by WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon himself, SmackDown's World Heavyweight Champion Batista will team with Undertaker to take on the Raw duo of WWE Champion John Cena and HBK.

At No Way Out, the duos of Cena & HBK, and Batista & Undertaker will be teammates, but at WrestleMania 23, they will be anything but as they battle each other on sports-entertainment's biggest stage.

    WWE Tag Team Championship
WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Deuce & Domino

Proving truth to the old adage that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, Deuce & Domino have secured a match for the WWE Tag Team Championship at No Way Out.

After two weeks of successfully defeating WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick in non-title action, the newcomers to the SmackDown tag scene were appalled that a title match would take place at No Way Out without their participation. The disappointed duo then made it a point to have the match killed. But Deuce & Domino didn’t go to SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long to have the match stopped. Instead, the impressive team took their complaint straight to WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Conn.

After listening to their complaint, WWE officials ruled in favor of Deuce & Domino, naming them the rightful No. 1 contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championship. As a result, the Ladder Match pitting London & Kendrick vs. MNM vs. The Hardys vs. William Regal & Dave Taylor has been removed from the No Way Out pay-per-view.

    Kane vs. King Booker

After Kane "rudely" interrupted the ceremony in which King Booker was to be presented with the key to the city of Houston, the royal ruler demanded an apology. Instead of enforcing the King's wishes, Theodore Long arranged for a one-on-one match at No Way Out.

Will the former ruler of the SmackDown kingdom get revenge on the Big Red Monster? Or, will Kane vanquish the evil monarch again?

    Finlay vs. Boogeyman

In recent weeks, Finlay and his Little Bastard have been stalked by Boogeyman. Little Bastard was repeatedly dragged under the ring by Boogeyman, which ended up costing Finlay an opportunity at the United States Championship.

When Finlay and Boogeyman finally met in one-on-one action, The Fighting Irishman ended the long undefeated streak of Boogeyman, stealing a victory by using the shillelagh.

At No Way Out, the budding rivalry between the two Superstars will see them facing off against each other once again.

Will Boogeyman be able to bounce back and defeat the Irishman, or will Finlay find a way to win again? What role will Little Bastard play?

    Diva Talent Invitational

By order of SmackDown General Manager, No Way Out will host the first ever inter-promotional Diva Talent Invitational. The competition is open to Divas of all three brands, and will feature the many skills and talents of the sexiest women on TV.

Will Jillian showcase her melodic vocal chords? Will Kristal show off her assets? Will the Extreme Expose make its way to No Way Out? Which Diva will impress the crowd and steal the show?

Two good matches so far. Rest of the card is going to suck ***, though. Except for Kennedy's match.

Kane v. King Bookah and Finlay v. Boogeyman were added to the card tonight. Also, Teddy Long added some Diva Talent Show.

I'd expect Helms v. Daivari to be added as well.

That ladder match is gonna kick ***. I'm sure Deuce and Domino will be in the PPV somehow too. I guess WWE feels they're too new to be in a ladder match. They're probably right.

And they got it. WWE.com says the ladder match was pulled though.

Does TLC return to WrestleMania this year? I think it does.

don't look now, but here's just a guess... maybe they decided to push the ladder match back to WM.

Well what about Money In The Bank then? It's unlikely they will have a ladder match and a TLC match on the same card, as it would take heat away from both matches.

Personally, i'd rather have MITB. More at stake, which makes it fun IMO.

I don't think we're getting MITB this year. There's not a whole lot they can do with it that hasn't been done with both the match and aftermath. If they stop doing it, they can come back with it in a few years, all fresh. And besides, the talent pool is a lot thinner this year and I don't see any upper level guys being left off the card this year.
