    Impact Rating Plummets

    source: Pro Wrestling Torch

Last night's airing of TNA Impact took a huge hit in the ratings as the show drew a 0.59 rating going head-to-head with a special Thursday night airing of WWE RAW. Last week's show drew a 1.1 rating, and thus there was a 47% decrease in viewership this week. This was the least watched edition of Impact in the show's history since the move to Spike TV. Additionally, the two hour replay of 'This is TNA!' that preceded last night's Impact drew an even lower rating, a 0.48 cable rating.

'Pros vs. Joes', which aired right after RAW and Impact had concluded at 10 p.m., drew a 0.77 rating. 'Inside the UFC', which usually draws a fraction of Impact's audience, drew a 0.46 rating.

Well dang...that doesn't sound to good..

LOL! I guess chanting "get that money" when everyone else was yelling "**** TNA" when Samoa Joe came out wasn't the best idea.

j/p. I hope this convinces Double J to reconsider his push for a Monday timeslot.

Hell, .59 is better than I thought it'd get. I was thinking no better than a .5 lol

Yeah, give up on the head-to-head idea Jarrett. It'd be promotion-suicide

Wow, I haven't watched WWE since the Rumble, and never got into TNA, but I think Thursday proved that if TNA goes head to head with the WWE, it'll be out of business in 3-4 weeks.

When Pros vs. Joes is getting a higher rating...LOL

F'ing ouch! I knew their rating would go down, but I was still thinking a .7-.9 type of rating. TNA definitely should have gone live on Monday night, a .59 is pathetic.

By contrast, what the Raw do?

I hope this opens Jarrett's and Carter's eyes so they finally realize that going toe to toe with VKM and RAW is not a good idea.

Figure that Thursday night is bad for TV in the sense that there is just so much on that people aren't going to give a crap about wrestling. With a list like this below, wrestling becomes second fiddle imo. I caught the first 30 minutes of RAW to watch The Office and about 20 min of the second hour before watching The O.C.

TNA should talk with SPIKE TV about moving to 8pm CST/9pm EST Wednesday evenings when there isn't this much competition. It might help a little bit, but not by much. Granted LOST, Deal or No Deal, and American Idol which put a dent into their show..............better off than Thursday Nights.

                              Just look at this list:

                              Survivor
                              The Office
                              CSI: NY
                              Supernatural
                              My Name is Earl
                              Smallville
                              O.C.
                              American Idol (for result shows)
                              Till' Death
                              Scrubs
                              30 Rock
                              Grey's Anatomy
