It's proved over the past few decades that it's more than a legitimate sporting business, in terms of the business numbers they do.

If ABC bought the WWE, they would put it on a channel that needs it. ESPN already pulls ratings - they don't need RAW to do that for them. How many businesses have ESPN on their TVs in their establishments? How many of those businesses have Fox Sports on?

Foxsports.com ran an article on the Royal Rumble before it aired. The UFC helped launch their foray into semi-mainstream with TUF 1 piggybacking off WWE's ratings in 2005 when they were both on Spike.

At this point, we go back to the silly phrase that gets uttered too much. "Best for business."
I actually agree with Dayman here to an extent. I don't think it's the sole reason though or the main reason. While some people would still harp on the "fakeness" of wrestling, I'm sure most would get over it. Ratings are good, but that's a huge block of time to dedicate to wrestling each and every week. FS1 is supposed to start airing MLB Playoff games. If one falls on a Monday or Friday, do they just move Raw or Smackdown? I'm not sure they're willing to drop their Monday/Friday night primetime slot just yet as they're still acquiring properties. I think FX would be the likely home for it if Fox picks it up. They may do some special episodes on FS1, but I think that's about it.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

I would assume SmackDown! Would be a show that goes to FS2 as a home if this theoretical deal ever takes place.

I don't know, I just see foxsports.com publishing random articles about WWE (and legitimate articles, not dirt sheet stuff) and hiring Jim Ross as too much of a coincidence. They obviously aren't averse to the idea of having some WWE presence around their name/brand.

They already had to give free ad time away during some major events (last year's World Series, some college football games on Fox) for failing to hit target viewership ratings on FS1.

RAW, SmackDown and Main Event won't be on the network app.

No idea on the timeframe it will take for their replays to go up.

I'm pretty sure they will be next day like on Hulu.

Their FAQ just says that episodes from 2012-2013 will be available. I'm sure 2014 replay episodes will make it eventually, but I haven't seen anything that indicates next-day availability.

Vince needs to come to some sort of a deal with Punk for the RAW in Chicago. Just to keep the fans from hijacking that show.

Does he really 'need' Punk though? Between, Cesaro, Reigns and Wyatt getting good shoves over the past couple of weeks, I haven't really noticed that he's not there.

I haven't really noticed him since the face turn. I think this would have hurt the company more if he was heel.

I know what you mean, he was sort of 'there' but not at the forefront like he was in 2011.

There really trying to get everyone's mind off Punk. As long as this has nothing to do with a certain streak

And yeah Punk was in the second biggest storyline but it was boring and forgettable
