Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I think, as a business society, we're past the point of wrestling being "fake." It's a legitimate athletic event.
It's proved over the past few decades that it's more than a legitimate sporting business, in terms of the business numbers they do.
If ABC bought the WWE, they would put it on a channel that needs it. ESPN already pulls ratings - they don't need RAW to do that for them. How many businesses have ESPN on their TVs in their establishments? How many of those businesses have Fox Sports on?
Foxsports.com ran an article on the Royal Rumble before it aired. The UFC helped launch their foray into semi-mainstream with TUF 1 piggybacking off WWE's ratings in 2005 when they were both on Spike.
At this point, we go back to the silly phrase that gets uttered too much. "Best for business."Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I would assume SmackDown! Would be a show that goes to FS2 as a home if this theoretical deal ever takes place.
I don't know, I just see foxsports.com publishing random articles about WWE (and legitimate articles, not dirt sheet stuff) and hiring Jim Ross as too much of a coincidence. They obviously aren't averse to the idea of having some WWE presence around their name/brand.
They already had to give free ad time away during some major events (last year's World Series, some college football games on Fox) for failing to hit target viewership ratings on FS1.badComment

Funny thing is, I don't care where it ends up, because I'll watch it on my network app every week. Lol

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Their FAQ just says that episodes from 2012-2013 will be available. I'm sure 2014 replay episodes will make it eventually, but I haven't seen anything that indicates next-day availability.Comment

I haven't really noticed him since the face turn. I think this would have hurt the company more if he was heel.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Spoiler
Following months of rumors, Hulk
Hogan
has been confirmed to return to WWE.
TMZ.com is reporting today that the legendary grappler, who has not appeared
for WWE since December
2007, will make his return to the sports-entertainment organization this Monday
night on Raw.
Contrary to recent reports, TMZ states that there are plans for Hogan to get
physical inside the WWE ring. However, it is not known whether he will actually
compete in a match. He has been training at the WWE Performance Center in
Orlando, Florida.
The website also reports that Hogan will appear at Wrestlemania XXX.
However, it is unknown what his role will be.<!--INFOLINKS_OFF-->
