Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
The one thing I'll say for Eva Marie is shes the real star of Total Divas. When shes the focus of the show, its just bad reality TV. When shes not in an episode or just briefly shown, the show is unwatchable.
On a side note, I can't be a fan of Naomi until she stops dressing like a cheap stripper for wrestling matches.
I enjoy Total Divas. But I also watch Real World and Party Down South.
To each his own.I'm a Vince McMahon Guy!

The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I'm starting to think Punk thinks he's more important in the grand scheme of the world than he actually is.
If he thinks he can have a career 5 years from now in entertainment or something just because he was a big deal in wrestling once, I have bad news for him.
Relevancy fades. He can't expect to be a celebrity forever while doing absolutely nothing. And even if it does work, and he becomes famous just for being famous, congrats. You're a ****ing Kardashian.
And I know he has the type of money where he could afford to just go away, but everything I've seen him do since retirement suggests, to me, that he's a guy that would like to at least stay on the periphery of the public eye.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Nah I just think Punk is done with wrestling. And thats ok. If he wants a career in entertainment good for him. I think when he says going back to WWE will be considered a failure its him saying: if he finds himself needing wrestling to feed himself ever again, then he failed. I dont see anything wrong with that.
If Rock went to hollywood and completely flamed out and returned to WWE full time, his outside WWE career would be considered a failure. I think thats what Heyman means when he says that about Punk. Punk put his foot down and left wrestling for greener pastures. If he has to crawl back to it, he failed. I agree with that logic.
I wouldnt doubt Punk could have a marginally successful career in entertainment if he really went at it. He has a look when he cleans up and I think he could be an alright actor (I guess idk). But I dont see anything that suggests he wants anything more than light work in his life right now.Comment

Dude is just enjoying life. Probably the first time he hasn't had to bust his *** in years and can actually just sit back and relax. Unless I'm just not hearing, it doesn't sound like he's talking about wrestling every time he's in an interview.
I feel pretty confident that in 5 years if his music hit, he'd get a pretty good pop.

You sound bitter, man.

Bitter is the wrong word, I don't really care that much what he does.
Just something about the whole thing that bothers me. The more I think about the Punk situation, the more I think the last few years of internet worship gave him a fairly sizable ego.
I mean, I find it off-putting, I guess. Bitter is a strong word, as I said, because that implies real stored anger. I don't care that much about him. It's not like Punk's new life is ruining my weekends. LolMember: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
So you give notice like a man. You don't up and leave your commitments, your fans, and everything else. I have no problem with him deciding to hang them up. I have a problem with the way he did it, and I have a problem with the weird hero worship he still enjoys.
It'd probably be a little easier to take if I liked him. As a performer, he's amazing. His character was great, and he's a phenomenal in ring performer. But from what I've seen and read in interviews and other accounts, he seems like a narcissistic ***. And leaving because the spotlight isn't on him the way he felt it should be, and this thing where he'd be a "failure" if he went back kinda feeds into that notion.Comment

According to a lot of people, his body was beat, he was sick (this was actually something he admitted to before quitting), doctors didn't know what was wrong with him. For all we know, wrestling could have been slowly killing him (hell look at D Bryan). I have ZERO problem with people being concerned about their health over their work, especially if their line of work was as physical as wrestling is and only getting about 1-2 days off a week. A real man puts his body and health first, especially over a multi-million dollar company who wants to use that body night in and night out.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
We as wrestling fans have always been ridiculously fickle though. It's funny with this whole CM Punk thing, considering these same fans spent seven years crucifying The Rock for leaving and being a sellout for focusing on his movie career (leaving after his contract was up mind you) and Brock Lesnar is still hated by a lot of people for leaving and yet somehow CM Punk has been wronged and is on hero status for walking out on his contract, the company and the fans leaving everybody high and dry going into Wrestlemania season of all times. Amazing.Comment
