Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

Sounds like a good idea, its does become tedious to read this topic and fishc through two or three pages of discussions of a piece of news from two or three months ago, millennium if people choose to not follow us to a dirt discussion thread warnings and bans should be considered

Anyway more on topic dirt wise

We noted earlier that Dusty Rhodes, who has been working in WWE developmental for some time, gave Prince Devitt a tour of the Performance Center when Devitt arrived in Orlando. It’s said that Dusty’s responsibilities in NXT have diminished over the past few years as his health has worsened. Dusty did lose a lot of weight but reportedly underwent double hernia surgery recently.

It’s been reported how Dusty got major heat on himself for putting his hand in Stephanie McMahon’s face during an in-ring segment on the September 30th, 2013 RAW. Dusty has been in a bad position politically since then.

It was said that Rhodes has been frustrated with his part time role and he’s talked about retiring sometime next year.

If we're insistent about having the discussion being in another thread, why not just stick a "OS WWE Dirt Discussion" thread? That way if you want the news, stick to this thread. If you want to post news and discuss it, be in that thread?

It may kill some of this thread, but it will A) Be clearly marked as discussion. B) Not cause unnecessary clutter with random dead threads. C) Should make all parties happy. In my uneducated opinion.
Again why does everyone think that having individual threads creates clutter? That makes absolutely no sense to me. This forum has been around long enough that there are (at least according to the way I have my settings) 64 pages of threads in the WWE forum. This is a WWE forum, it's already it's entire own forum to discuss WWE related events so all threads related to WWE can be found in the WWE forum. Having threads designated to multiple topics makes much more sense if instead of a WWE forum it was just a "Non-Major Sports" forum during the Monday Night Wars era.

By my count I saw Alberto Del Rio's release being discussed in 2-3 different threads. That creates confusion. But my problem lies within the other forums as well, NBA specifically. LeBron's signing gets his own thread but the Kevin Love saga gets designated to the same thread where we discuss Travis Outlaw getting traded and Rodney Stuckey signing with the Pacers. The NBA 2014 Off-Season thread has 7,554 posts discussing hundreds of different topics. That to me is what I would consider clutter.

Having separate "Dirt Thread" and "Dirt Discussion Thread" would still create confusion over time because said topics will never be synchronized . At the same time if you want to discuss dirt topics in their own threads it's hard to do that without spoiling something in the thread's title for the people that don't want to read it. So I think the best solution is individual dirt threads in a sub-forum for dirt and maybe consider spoilers as a part of that too.

I've never believed there's a problem with individual threads for discussion of an individual topic. It doesn't create clutter because if a thread is about a topic that no one cares about and doesn't discuss, it just keeps moving down and down over time.

I just don't understand the purpose of a thread just for reporting dirt and not discussing it. That's what the dirt sheets are for

Making a new thread/s, especially to discuss something as speculative as the info we get on dirtsheets seems kind of pointless.

I'd argue that the reason people would go to a primarily sports-video game themed website to discuss wrestling is to get the opinions of those they know on the website, because if you were just using OS to read dirtsheet news, then you'd be using an incredibly inefficient system.

The NFL/NBA/MLB Off-Season Discussions have it right. A piece of news is posted and it is discussed. I don't understand why this now seemingly isn't the case in this thread. You can go to one of the dozens of prominent wrestling dirtsheet websites to get purely dirt info.

I just see it as making things more complicated than they should be, and it's so unnecessary.

                Whatever.

If someone posts some dirt and I question it or have a question about it, I'm going to post about it, and if that leads to a discussion, then so be it. That is the point of a discussion board. FYI.

FYI? Thank you for explaining to me what a discussion board is, completely ignoring the fact that I've been running one for 7 years.

The reasoning behind this is that some people don't want to go to dirt sheet sites. Some people like to come here to see spoilers and dirt. But when they click the link, that isn't what they see. They see long winded conversation on it.

I'm going with the separate discussion thread. For those of you that talked about this constructively, thank you. For those of you that don't like this decision and decide to weigh in with barbs and pot shots, I'll give the same advice given earlier in this thread :

There are plenty of other sites out there you can go to discuss wrestling other than OS.

                    BACK TO DIRT.....

appears that the new stable with Xavier Woods, Kofi
                    Kingston
                    and Big E may have
already been dropped. There has been no mention of the group in the past couple
of weeks, and Big E was back to being a babyface and getting squashed by Rusev
on last night's episode of SmackDown. There was no mention of Woods or Kingston
during the match. Kingston has also been working as a face during the WWE
                    tour in Australia this week.

What better way to breathe life back into this thread by posting the best news of the summer:

The stable of Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods looks to be “on” again after being quietly dropped from WWE programming earlier this month.
The duo of Big E & Kofi teamed together in a WWE Tag Team Championship match against The Usos and Erick Rowan & Luke Harper at Friday night’s live event in Stockton, California. Xavier Woods was with them. The Usos retained during the match.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

WWE Smackdown is returning to Thursday evenings as of Thursday 10/2.
The official calendar for programming on Syfy's website lists Smackdown for that date, preceding "Haven", which the network already announced was moving to Thursdays.

Several weeks back, photos of WWE trucks listing the show for Thursdays were spotted by fans. WWE responded that while a change has been considered, the trucks were changed by an "overzealous" act and were being fixed to reflect the Friday timeslot.

Smackdown debuted in 1999 as a Thursday night series but was moved to Fridays in 2005. WWE has been willing to move the series to another night for some time, even discussing broadcasting the series live on Tuesdays during their most recent TV negotiations.

Since WWE NXT and Superstars air on Thursdays on the WWE Network, it should be interesting to see where WWE decides to move them on the WWE Network.

Normally don't watch smackdown good to see it go back to its original night

He seems like he can handle himself in the ring well, his mic skills are TBD because of his gimmick he really didn't get a chance to cut a serious promo. Hopefully he can get a new gimmick.

sometimes it helps to take time to learn ring phschology. A wrestler can learn all the moves and spots, but if he cannot tell a story that the fans will buy into, he will not draw money. He has time, he will get it right.
