Miz and Truth are scheduled to travel to New Orleans today to train with The Rock in preparation for their tag match at Survivor Series. Rock is currently in the city filming scenes for the upcoming G.I. Joe

Mark Henry refused to give Big Show his match.
Big Show said he'd KO Mark Henry every week until he got his title shot.
Big Show KO'd Mark Henry during his match with Daniel Bryan causing Henry to win by DQ.
Daniel Bryan went and got his case and then...

I love how a guy can be buried and still be IC champ. Just like that Punk guy was buried all those times he lost to Orton. Whatever happened to that guy anyways?

Didn't you know? Losing to a 9 time World Champion means you're on your way to the bottom of the card.

Yah it's pretty spectacular how they managed that. I don't love it though. It's rather poor on their part. Like it's pretty simple to give Cody an IC title fued he can win instead of having him go 0-3 in a non-title fued. Orton even put a bag over his head this time. Kinda like that time Cena pulled all those chairs down on Barrett.

Except he got a win over Orton on Raw a few weeks ago...

And thanks for snipping my post. I remember the meme around here about how Punk was on such a grand losing streak on PPVs and was getting buried because he was leaving the company. Then he got the biggest push of his career and pretty much made the 'buried' talk look quite silly.

Rhodes' DQ win over Orton on SmackDown was also conveniently left out. Or revised into one of those wins for Orton.

Much like Orton "buried" Rhodes, Punk "buried" Cena. Mark Henry cleanly "buried" Orton twice as well.

That's because I had nothing to say to the Punk thing at first. Then I mentioned the Barrett thing because I thought of it later. Though sure they can start making him look good next week. Right now,not so much. I thought the whole point was to bring back credibilty to the belt.

You don't think having the IC champ have a feud with the second biggest star in the company raises the profile of the title? You don't have to win the match for the feud to help you. Look at Austin's wrestlemania match with Bret. Austin lost that match, but it helped skyrocket his career. Or the Jeff Hardy/Randy Orton feud. You can't really believe that didn't help Hardy even though Orton went over.

I can see both sides of the argument, but I still think to use the verbage 'buried' is a bit strong. Cena lost clean a bunch of times to Punk over the summer and wasn't buried, Orton lost clean to Henry at 2 straight PPVs and isn't buried...I get what you're going for and agree that Cody still needs to be built up a bit more. But the guy's obviously someone WWE's high on and is nowhere close to being 'buried' in the truest sense of the word.

I'd bet that Cody somehow gets another win in this feud, somewhere down the line. That and we don't know how the match went down. If it was a 15 min match like the one Orton had last week w/ Ziggler (which was great BTW) then of course Cody's not buried. You can look strong in a loss, you know that right? But I guess it's easier to read spoiler reports and make concrete judgements nowadays.

I'm also wondering why Cody losing to a recent World Champ makes him buried, but Ziggler losing to a guy who's never held a singles title (kayfabe) doesn't make him buried.

I guess its because one guy's the internet darling, and the other's, well...ya know.
