Don I think we need to revisit the footage of Jim Cornette making that shocking announcement.

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
WWE current product is horrible I can't stand to watch its so unbearable at times. I used to like TNA when it just started out on Spike but I got tired of it very quickly. So know I turn to my trusted Indies which are ROH, IWA-MS, and Chikara. ROH brings me my great wrestling that I have been missing while IWA brings me a great mix of both hardcore/deathmatch and techincal wrestling mix and Chikara is great for family friendly comedy that I have gotten really into.
Couple that with I found a private torrent site to download Nitro from 96-99 and Raw from 98-99 means that I am realiving everything.
I suggest to everybody who hasn't checked out an Indie to do so I really think alot of you old fans could get into ROH as it brings awesome wrestling along with realistic storylines that dont shadow over the great wrestling.Comment

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
I bet most of the People on this board would be shocked to learn that I'm...a CHIKARA fan.
Yeah, the wrestling is god-awful for the most part (don't front!), but it's just so different. Yeah, there's pasty white 19 year olds there that make The SAT look like The Briscoes (again, don't front!), but the gimmicks are just so over the top. It's hilarious stuff.
I love the fact that there's like 20 people in the audience. The interaction with the crowd is just as important as the moves in some cases. And it's FUNNY!
I think there's a few people on this board who would actually like it.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

For the most part the top 3 matches on a Chikara card have good wrestling but the rest is just hilarious with bad to okay wrestling involved. I love 2.0 there one of my favorite tag teams in ChikaraComment

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
WWE, even when it's bad, it's still a lot better than most TV programming now a days. It's always there every week. They don't have the off seasons like all the network shows, if they did, maybe the writing could be a bit better since they'd have more time...
None the less. At any point things can turn around and get hot again.
i'll always stick with wrestling no matter how bad it gets. It's still a decent show on TV that's there nearly every week.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
I know i'm late with this but WWE has lost me since oh, '05ish maybe earlier. I sometimes think that i've lost my love for wrestling but then I watch old matches and segments on youtube or watch WWE 24/7 and the love for the product is still there.
I just think the current storylines, the wrestlers, the announcers and on air personel have gotten old hat to me. You know what i'd love to see on WWE TV again? Having the older guys be a part of the current product as announcers or doing interview segments. It'd be a nice bridge between the past and present.
I also think that things need to be toned down, not the product itself but the presentation. I know Vince scoffs at the way wrestling used to be but I'd love to see a simpler look to the show. You know, something similar to WWE and WCW in the late 80s/early 90s.
Ah well least I have youtube and 24/7.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
Guys,
It seems to happen to me every few years or so, and I think it's happened again. WWE has lost me....again.
I was a big fan of wrestling when I was growing up, watched it until the late 80's, then I grew tired of it with the goofy cartoonish gimmicks that WWF was running with all the time. That's also around the time Turner bought out Jim Crockett Promotions, and I didn't like that product anymore either.
I didn't watch much wrestling again until my college years and the birth of the Monday Night Wars. During this time, I got REALLY into it. So much so that we'd routinely drive to Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, or Raleigh/Chapel Hill to see live events. Those are all good drives from Wilmington. I stayed into it until...well...the Vince Russo years in WCW. Again, they lost me.
I started to tune back in when Vince bought WCW, mostly out of curiosity. That didn't last very long. When I saw what the WCW Invasion angle was going to be all about, I stopped watching again.
This time, I was away for quite a while. I didn't really start watching again until just before Wrestlemania 20, when one of my alltime favorites, Chris Benoit, won the World Title. GREAT moment!
I've been watching pretty much since then, non-stop. That's a good long run, but these days, I dunno. There's just nothing going on anymore that makes me feel like it's must see television. I haven't watched the last 2 PPV's, haven't been following Smackdown, haven't watched ECW much, and wasn't even interested in watching Raw last week.
Guys - it's been fun, but I'm out. WWE and pro wrestling has lost me for the time being.
I pretty much do the same thing. Its been two years since I've watched any wrestling at all. I'm sure I'll be back at some point too but right now I'm uber-obsessed with MMA.Comment

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
I lost interest once the WWF got rid of The Goon and Waylon Mercy.
These 2 could have been bigger than The Rock and Austin!
BTW what ever happened to that short/built security guard on Raw (late 90's)? The guy always had a black muscle shirt on.Comment
