By a "OS Smackdown 2008 Wrestling Fed", do you guys mean a league over Xbox Live or a CAW video league on YouTube where posters see their wrestlers in action? I've made a CAW league on YouTube (the URWL - http://www.youtube.com/urwlwrestling) so if you guys need anyone with experience in that regard I'll help out - I just need a new capture device.

I think the idea of an XBL league is pretty superb. I found the release date is sometime in November of this year. That gives us plenty of time to get stuff set up.

Here's how I see it working:

We could easily do one card a week, to start with, and if the demand is there move to two. We could have one person who is set as the booker/GM, that could orchestrate the angles/cards, and only compete for the lesser titles, not the World Championship. I would be down to do something like this, if nobody else wanted to. Something to be discussed in the future.

Post the card on a thread here on Sunday night and people will have the following Monday-Sunday to complete their matches. I think this is the best way because not everybody will be available at the same time, I would imagine everybody involved could find 20-30 minutes throughout the entire week to schedule a match.

Winners would be posted on the same thread, we would have to find a way to verify the winners, perhaps photo proof (taking a picture of the winner on t.v.,) or if THQ has a similar thing to NCAA we could upload videos (which would be nice.) This is something we can discuss in the interim.

We can have one title belt for say every 6-8 people in the promotion. You don't want to have too many belts, but you don't want to have 30 people trying to win 3 belts. Obviously there would be a World Champion, and below that we can institute some sort of U.S. Title, I.C. Title, or my personal favorite the WCW TV Title. Again we can discuss titles in depth at a later date. If I recall they didn't have tag team wrestling on SvR 07 online, but if it is available, we could possibly do this, given there is enough tag teams to warrant it.

Included in each card will be rankings for each title, champion, #1 contender, 2, 3...etc down to #5. Maybe a top 10 for the World Title. This could give people an idea of where they stand and help to explain who would be next in line for title shots.

Ideally everybody should create a wrestler, somebody at least realistic looking. No big scaley looking people with horns and crap. Try to make it look authentic, with your own moveset/finishers.

Anyways, that's all I've got so far, we should start an actual sign up list, to see how many people would actually be interested, so far in this thread we have. So far we have:

I'd be down... I just starting playing 2007 again after making an unbelievable MVP CAP using WolfgangJT's guide over at caws.ws (it's freakin' amazing and only needed a few small tweaks). I also discovered the game is more fun when you don't win every match! Imagine that... it took hard difficulty with some major AI adjustments (a lot more strike & grapple reversals) to do the trick. I've got MVP up to a 77 rating going for the Tag belts at WM. BTW, do you always get traded after WM in season mode?

Wow, off-track post of the year... I'd love to get in on some XBL action. Is it too soon to call MVP?

Entirely dependent on whether XBOX Live works at my college apartment and if the online game is less laggy than 07's is, I'm in. I'd prefer a CAW league as well.

If I can't get on XBL from my apartment then I'll offer to be a writer of sorts and do recaps, the P25, and other things.

Finally I'd like to think that everyone on OS in this league would be mature enough to fairly and accurately report match results, and as such I'm not sure the photo verification of winners is necessary.

LOL, just pointing out facts. Game doesn't even come out for 3 months, maybe revisit it then, but to get a roster of interested parties to have them all drop before release, been there did that.

If we use the roster of wrestlers on there already (or realistic CAWs of WWE wrestlers) - I'd be in, if my college 'net is good enough to play with, of course.

I would like to think this too, but inevitably there will be that one kid who will deny losing a match, and then you just get into a he said/she said pissing contest which could ruin the league.

I think a league of mostly CAW's would be better, just for originality sake. I suppose it wouldn't really matter if some people wanted to use in-game wrestlers, or CAWs of real wrestlers. I think it would be interesting to have some CAWs, some CAWs of old school wrestlers, and some of the newer guys.

Like guy said, we got 3 months till the game comes out, so we can iron out details in that time. We're up to 12 people right now, I really think 15-16 should be the cap for the launch of the league. At 16 people, that would be around 6-8 matches a week. But we'll see as things get closer, if you have any ideas, please post them so we can make this one work better than the last one...
