I'd be down, if I have my 360 by then, which I should. If not, I could;d help out with organization, and writing, like story lines, etc.

Re: OS Smackdown 2008 Wrestling Fed?

I know I have next to no posts here, but I'm reliable, trust me. I've been around theperfectgame forums which has lineage from as far back as High Heat 2000 in other forums.

With that said, you could count me in as interested. Over at TPG we tossed around the idea, but nothing happened. I know of at least one guy that would be interested there.

One suggestion that I have would be rules for certain matches to create somewhat realistic action. For instance, if you have a cage match or a ladder match, it should be a rule that an escape isn't attempted for at least 5 minutes or the ladder doesn't come in the ring for at least 5 minutes. And if someone is posing, you can't hit them. Stuff like that.

I'm not definitely in, but even a card of matches per week without story lines / angles would make me happy. Let's keep this alive and active so as to bounce ideas around. That gives it the best chance to succeed.

It wasn't lack of coordination, it just never came together and I think it was mainly because guys didn't want to run through simming the management mode.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

          and myself.

There's 14, not too bad. We can keep getting sign ups, because, well I'm sure some people will lose interest between now and the time the game comes out, if not, then we'll have a waiting list or something to get extra people incorporated in the fed.

I'm not quite sure why you wouldn't hit somebody if they were posing. I mean if you're taunting me, I am going to try to hit you. I could see the value in the rule for the ladder/cage matches, but again, if I am trying to escape it's up to you to stop me, if I knock you down I'm not going to stand there and wait for you to get up and not try to get out of the cage. Does anybody else have any feedback on this?

            Whoa, blast from the past!

Not sure if you remember me, but I was over at the Dugout back in the days as Viper. Good to see another familiar face here. Damn, that was ages ago.

Anyway, I'm just posting this to vouch that guap is reliable

I'll be down for this as long as they took care of the load times from 07, I grew tired of those real quick. It felt PSone-esque.

Hey Viper! err, Spectre! I do remember ya! How long has it been since you've been around any incarnation of those boards? If you ever get bored (heh), stop by theperfectgame.net. It's basically a general hangout now, but decent conversation even if there aren't too many left. You'll see some more familiar faces, I'm sure.

And you're right on about those load times. How awful was it to get a load screen for 20 seconds between the end of the match and celebration? Terrible.

In general, those rules which are followed in unwritten style when I play with a few people I know, are to create some realism. If there was a cage match on TV, people aren't going to just run up the side of the cage. And what if they did and escaped after a 1:00 match? That doesn't happen. If it's just going to be a fed that strictly rewards the best player, it's not that fun. I enjoy entertaining matches with some semblance of realism, not a match that demonstrates who can excel at the game and its many quirks.

Same thing for the posing. There is a certain amount of showmanship involved to make it realistic. If I'm playing a match with someone I know, and I only play with people I know because it's not worth the frustration of playing against the unknown morons that lurk around XBL, if he poses, I'll pose too, to appreciate the foolishness of it all -- and to be a little authentic. Also, you can't stop mid pose. It leaves you completely vulnerable. So even if you consider that a "real" wrestler could strike someone mid-pose in a "real" match, it's still apples to oranges because the poser can't just stop to defend himself like he could in a "real" match.

I'm not that married to the idea on the taunting, but it's just something that is followed in matches I play with people I know, so I wanted to just explain the reasoning behind it. If everything is fair game,

Maybe people here wouldn't be that familiar with one another and would take advantage with excessive posing and whatnot. But if people are that unfamiliar and it becomes too much of a competition, it would lose appeal for me instantly. I'd like to do a fed because it sounds fun, and if any other people are in it (just) to win it, it dies quickly for me.
