I love when people think that what they like is what everyone else wants to see.
I'm so sorry Vince, I didn't know you posted on OS. I'm sure you know what everyone would like to see. Just wait till your boys Cena and lashley come off the DL, put them at the top two spots at WM 24.

If you don't think Flair headlining one last WM would rake in the dough, you have had too much to drink tonight. If you had been paying any attention, I was using the invasion angle as an example of how WWE would screw up a wet dream. Was you happy the way it went down Vince? More than likely you did.

Go ahead and get that John Cena shirt on, i'm sure he will be back for WM24.

LOL! James is a cool guy, sometimes when he feels strongly about something you get a nice debate going.

I bought the Ultimate Ric Flair collection and so glad I did. Great moments on it and hey its Ric Flair. I remember him from before the original and best Four Horsemen. Seeing him wrestle and cut a promo was a thing of beauty. Seeing Flair have the title one more time would really be nice, but *and I know this would never happen* Him having a "surprise" opponent for Wrestlemania and it be Sting. He is one of the few fit to beat Flair to end his career. One last match at Wrestlemania would be great..of course im sure Sting would be there for one night only

Sting vs. Ric Flair at WrestleMania would be awesome and I think that match alone could sell out the building as the headliner. I don't care what anyone says, 1 last match between these two even though Flair is nowhere near he was during their early encounters but would still kick some major ***. Sting has not signed yet with TNA, how about 1 more match.

Wait, since I'm not some illogical idiot like yourself, I'm Vince McMahon? OK.

Your second paragraph shows how out of touch people like you are with reality. Ric Flair hasn't been a top draw in 10 years. That isn't something I made up, it's a fact. Not something we can "agree to disagree" with because you're dead wrong. Matter of fact, let's look at some numbers in Greensboro (since it's all I have off hand)...

1988: He had 12,457 for a New Year's match against Michael Hayes. Against Sting at the first Clash, 6,000. Then there was The Crockett Cup against Nikita where the house was 6,500. The freaking Crockett Cup! GBA with WAR GAMES...7,500.

1989: Christmas week against LEX LUGER...5200.

1991: Against Sting on New Year's...2000.

Big Money Ric for the past 16 years, I think not.

Cena has nothing do with that. Lashley has nothing to do with that. It has to do with Flair losing more than anyother top guy in history and then later being booked into the ground by Bischoff. Sorry to have to break it to you, but if you wanna conversate with me, know your stuff. You clearly don't.

You're a bitter because your southern style of wrasslin' is long dead. Boo hoo too f'n bad.

Let's put some historical context to those numbers though. At that time Crockett/Turner had over worked the Carolinas to the point that it became pretty much ho hum to have an NWA/WCW event there. At some point you have to expand to other areas. Crockett tried to gain a foothold further up the East Coast but it never worked out so when the company was in trouble he'd always go back to where he knew he could get money. Unfortunately by the late 80s/early 90s it had become a mixture of bad booking and always going to the same old locations over and over again that caused such low attendance numbers.

But aren't these the very same fans who love Flair and will pay money to see him headline WrestleMania?

The holidays were always the big wrestling nights in that territory. These aren't random numbers. It's numbers of holiday shows in the middle of Flair country. And then they DID take the tradition out of the territory (to Chicago) and business was never the same, ANYWHERE. Gates were fine for the holidays until that Starrcade.

Flair/Steamboat wasn't even much of a money maker. And then there was Flair/Hogan which had one great house. Everything else was normal Hogan gates. He did really good with Funk, but after that it was back to the toliet bowl.

I'm not saying Flair wasn't a draw at his peak, but once the '80s were endning, so was his run. He was able to come back a bit and did sell out with Vader, but the PPV number was crap. He was their best ratings draw once he came back in '98, but that didn't last long bcause of Bischoff. Not like it matters why though because it is what it is.

btw, I love how this thread turned into exactly what I didn't want it to be.

It was stuff like that, bro thanks. Just a throw away promo and it was great. His mic work is just so far above everyone elses. Not because they weren't great, but because Flair was just that much better.

Flair vs. H on Monday night wasn't that bad of a match. Makes you wonder if WWE will have Sting vs. Flair for WrestleMania, Sting still hasn't signed with TNA + that Sting dvd is on the way on 8/2008.
