Tonight on ECW, CM Punk dropped the title to Chavito thanks to the assist from Edge.
Admittedly, I haven't been a fan of Punk's title reign. It's been nothing spectacular, much like his stint in the E. Until they give him a character it's hard to really care about the guy. Hopefully this will give him the opportunity to move to Smackdown where they have more time to work with and maybe he can get his hands on a mic and have a little character development. It seems like a feud with Edge is on the horizon(I still think it'll be a filler feud for No Way Out).
I'm happy to see Chavo get a World Title...even if it's the World Title that means less than the US and IC titles. I think he should have gotten Rey's spot a couple years ago as WHC...but that's another subject. Don't really like how his win was booked, but whatever.
I'm a little confused where they're going with this though. It seems like they're moving Punk to SD, but they have no other top faces on ECW at all. I figured Punk would hold onto the title until Mania where Shelton would dethrone him, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I dunno, I'd like to say it'll be interesting to see where they go...but to be honest I haven't found much entertaining about ECW since the Nu Breed-Originals storyline ended.
