    ***The Official John Cena Thread***

    For thoughts on everything Cena....

I'm not his biggest fan at all, but last night was amazing.

I know Cena is a great guy behind the scenes, I just don't like his character. The whole you can't wrestle thing is bull****, IMO.

He doesn't have any less moves than any of the other top guys. Is he Bret Hart? No. I'm a huge HHH fan, but what makes him such a better wrestler than Cena, in-ring? I guess I just don't get the you can't wrestle thing.

I don't like him, but I still marked out like a 12 year old last night. Thought it was simply amazing when he came out, and his whole time in the ring. Loved every second of it.

I don't mind him I was just getting sick and tired of his title run. In the steve austin days austin never had the title more than a few months. Even when he finally won it back at mania 15 he lost it to the taker 2 months later only to win it back on raw and lose it at summerslam. Except for the 10 month world heavyweight run by triple H he has never really kept the belt all that long. One of the good things about wrestling is having the world title change hands keeps it interesting but with Cena you hoped he would lose but you knew he would win and thats why I was happy he had to be stripped because it ment something fresh and what did we get? 2 title changes in a 3 hour span which was great. Orton will probably only be champion till mania and october to april is not a bad run but a year is pushing it. I don't mind cena he just never does anything fresh and his last 2 mania defenses ended the exact same way.

I like long title reigns. Makes it seem important and makes the Champ look stronger.

Some guys are just better at chasing the title than holding it, like Sting for example. I think Cena makes for a good champ. There's some people that love having him champ, while some people can't wait for him to lose. And that brings in buyrates either way. People forked out money to see guys like Hogan, Rock, and Bret defend their titles. Then there were champs people paid to hopefully see lose like Flair, JBL, and the Honky Tonk Man. Cena's love/hate relationship with the fans brings both elements into the fold. And anyone that tells you Cena can't wrestle has not been paying attention for the past 2 years.

If Cena had a heel turn then he his character could really take off.

Right now he is just too stale and it's the same crap. It's not Cena's fault his writing staff sucks. McMahonagement is just running this crap down our throats...so I don't really hate Cena...more like I hate what McMahon is doing to Cena.

As for the 5 moves of doom...his is the worst, but The Rock, HBK and HHHitler all do the same thing so don't hate on him for that either.

I liked the surprise last night. I just don't like Cena being the focus of everything and being the modern day Hulk Hogan. I agree that a heel turn would really make his character a lot more refreshing.

Those are my thoughts on mr. Thug Life.

A heel turn isn't the answer. The only thing it would do is alienate a large portion of the fanbase. He'd still "only know 5 moves". He'd still be the focus of the show. There's no money in a heel Cena right now or the foreseeable future.

It's such a short sighted, selfish idea that wouldn't do anything positive. All of you would make up another reason why Cena sucks anyway.

Turning Cena would be such a refreshing move and honestly, It would let Cena actually cut a good promo.

Sure there isn't much money in a Cena heel, but sooner or later he is going to HAVE to turn heel. Money or not, you'll see it and his character will have so much more upside after it. Cena has the potential to be better than even Edge as a heel if/when he turns.

Right now, it's boring, but it makes money unfortunately. If you like his borefest of a promo then good for you. I'm sure you were a huge Hogan mark as well.

If you think Cena's promos are boring, I can't imagine what you think of 3/4 of the rest of the WWE roster.

I thought Cena was being forced down our throats last year as much as anyone, but who else does WWE have with that kind of drawing power? They need him, and I welcome him back.

Seeing as I was 6 when Hogan's run started, I was. And I wasn't the only one.

And right now, to a lot of kids, Cena IS Hogan. His character isn't aimed at grown-ups; he's marketed to WWE's main demo -- KIDS! And he's connected with them. He turns heel, and the point of his being where he is goes away.

People who are so stale like you seem to think Cena is don't get the loudest reaction in the arena every single night. Gates don't go down 3.9% when he gets hurt. Ratings for the show he appears on don't go down 4.5%. All this turn Cena heel stuff is garbage and has no basis in reality.

Cena can't turn heel right now. He doesn't have an nWo. What's he gonna do come out and tell the crowd to stick? Lol. I used to want him to turn heel, but like James said it is better for business with his as a heel. It's the same deal with Rey Rey.

Can't turn Cena heel til after Mania. You guys ae nuts to think a HHH/Cena feud, which should be imminent, will have Cena a heel and HHH a face. Both guys are crazy tweeners and heat magnets. There was a time right up until Cena beat HHH at Wrestlemania that HHH was hated on terribly just because of his domination thing.
