Hulk Hogan is just days away from launching his own professional wrestling promotion intended to compete with World Wrestling Entertainment, reports The Sun out of the United Kingdom. Hogan told The Sun that he and Eric Bischoff are very close to signing a television deal with a major United States network. Hogan commented, “Last night me and Eric were getting ready to sign a deal with one of the TV networks here in America. We had a little bit of a problem with the licensing and merchandising, which has delayed it. But I totally expect we’re going to sign the TV portion of this very soon, because there’s no point in starting any sort of wrestling organization without the TV locked in place.”

Hogan says after the television deal is locked, they will make an official announcement. Hulk on went to tell The Sun that the new product he and Bischoff plan to launch will be a product similar to WWE but he “prays to God it’s nothing like what is on TV now” and even refers to WWE's product as "boring programming."

When asked what they plan on doing for talent the Hulkster said, “There are a lot of unhappy campers in the WWE and there are also a new breed of wrestlers that Vince McMahon hasn’t explored yet, that we have. And I’m in better shape than I have been for about 10 years.”

Competition is good, this is going to hurt TNA more than it will hurt the WWE though IMHO

Hasn't Hogan been tied to a billion "New Wrestling Promotions" over the past 10 years? None of them ever pan out.

I've been out of the loop, but I can buy this. It requires a ridiculous amount of resources to sustain a wrestling federation. This thing will fight an uphill battle from Day 1.

Saw this a long time ago.

Lol at Hogan. The programming is boring? Basically, "Vince wouldn't pay me, so I hate him and his stupid company."

If they are serious about this, it will definitely get a TV Deal. I really don't know what the hell they are gonna do for the talent though. I'm sure Hulk or Bischoff can sway at least one name. I'd say Big Show but he already has a deal in place with the WWE.

Since Hogan, TNA and myself don't like WWE. I think Hogans promotion and TNA's promotion will partner up in some fashion. Who else is really out there in term's of wrestling talent. TNA has the best wrestling talent "Did not say the smartest bookers" at this moment. I feel hogan's going to have a more up hill battle then TNA did, unless Ted Turner get's back into the business.

Since Hogan, TNA and myself don't like WWE. I think Hogans promotion and TNA's promotion will partner up in some fashion. Who else is really out there in term's of wrestling talent. This probably won't work but I wish Hogan and Bischoff luck. At least they're trying unlike the people at Titan.

Would be interesting if any of the "unhappy campers" at WWE are big names. If he can just get one big name then maybe there's hope.

Like Ric Flair, Mick Foley, Undertaker, etc....?? I hope there is another promotion coming on TV. More wrestling the better.
