This has been driving me nuts, how did the WWE transform the beer drinking, cigar smoking, *** kicking, redneck APA Bradshaw into what we currently see as JBL. Was it a gradual change that took place over time? Did they simply re-invent the character like they did turning Viscera into Big Daddy V or Jamal (or was he Rosey) into Umaga? This has driven me nuts since I started watching again.

The Random WWE Question Thread (aka Ask Jiggidy)
This is a thread for small questions that drive you nuts but probably don't deserve their own thread to ask.

Re: The Random WWE Question Thread (aka Ask Jiggidy)
Faarooq was fired in a storyline. JBL thought he was getting canned as well, but Paul Heyman told him that wasn't the case. I think that was the first time they really pushed that he was on Fox News and was a successful analyst.
Then the next week, he cut a promo about it.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72 -
Re: The Random WWE Question Thread (aka Ask Jiggidy)
So more or less it was a sudden change?
How did they get him over a former mid-card tag teamer to the longest reigning world champion in Smackdown history though? I guess that gets me as much as the character transformation.Comment

That was a great feud, too. But JBL flopped as champ -- SmackDown houses were crap, lowest since Nash was champ. I think the only reason he had the title so long was because there was no one else. HBK said he couldn't work Tuesdays because of bible classes, HHH wanted to stay on Raw, Angle was broken and Eddy imploded the first time. Not too many people bought it. I needed some time myself and I always like Bradshaw.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

I don't watch much of the product today (just the PPVs really) but I think one thing that helped with the JBL transformation was when he retired from active wrestling and became the Smackdown color guy. It seemed to me that he cultivated a lot of respect through that from both the Powers the Be and the fans.
I could be totally off though.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: The Random WWE Question Thread (aka Ask Jiggidy)
I have a question for the master: Who is the guy who came out to help Chavo beat down Kane on ECW last week? Is he a WWE-development guy or did he come from another fed (TNA, ROH, etc)? I mostly watch the 'E', so I'm not too familiar with the guys from the others... Thanks.Comment

OK here's a bit of an old school question but whatever happened to Kevin Kelly? He used to get bullied and punked time after time after time with the Rock. Later on that role was filled by Michael Cole but I always thought Kelly gave better reactions and faces when he was made to look stupid.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

He was also writing for a British site at this time. I don't know if you've ever talked to a British smark, but they're fools. It's like wrestling started in 2002 to them. So playing to that crowd, no wonder his mind was warped.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Ah, my boy Kevin Kelly. Like MassNole said, he writes for wrestlezone, but a few years back he was the booker for the NYC indy promotion. We had some conversations back then and he struck me as bitter. And he's further proof that just because you talk it, doesn't mean you can put together a wrestling show. He ran two, they were horrible and he left. He did leave those ticket sellers off the show, but for as much crap as he talked, I, and everybody else, expected a whole lot more. My opinion: He's an ***.

Ox LaRouche. I forget what they're calling him in the majors. He's another Dev guy.

We have a friend that we call "Hermie" even to this day because of that skit...I wish I could find it on You Tube, but it's not coming up.
