Interesting Read from Jim Cornette
It's about the way the booking/writing of wrestling is handled. Mainly in the wwe. Mostly negative but i can't disagree with much of it. Pretty good read in my opinion. Cornette can be a bit abrasive sometimes but he's got some pretty good points i think. He definitely is passionate about the business.

Re: Interesting Read from Jim Cornette
Cornette has always been one of the smarter guys in the biz.
But as a counter point...he never mentions that all those things he waxes nostalgic for STILL exist on the Indys.
If important guys like him stopped just complaining about things they can never change and focus on things they can. The landscape of wrestling in this country would change in just a few years.Comment

Re: Interesting Read from Jim Cornette
I think the only place you can get it is his site or highspots. maybe some other places, but not in stores. I think, anyway. I know Cornette was selling autographed copies. I ordered one of those and should have it soon.
It's more of a scrapbook than a biography, though, so it's not really for everybody. But it sounds so interesting with letters (to and from Cornette), journal entries and some retold stories mixed in. It's like a look behind the curtain when it happened, instead of a carny just going off his memory.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Not for nothing, while I think wrestling sort of passed guys like him by and the style he thinks wrestling should be has been dead for at least ten years, there is no one who knows more about the history and basics of wrestling than him.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Re: Interesting Read from Jim Cornette
But the basis of writing wrestling doesn't have to change.
Absolutely you aren't going to have the same things that happened in mid-80s NWA. But we don't need to waste PPV time with a Great Khali/Santina kiss-off.PSN: VoicesWrestling

Re: Interesting Read from Jim Cornette
I saw him in a "Shoot Interview" on justin.tv recently. It was easily the best one I have ever seen. He was talking literally for hours. The guy had so many stories. It was hypnotic.Comment

Re: Interesting Read from Jim Cornette
What Cornette and alot of the older guys are masters of is telling the story in the ring.
Nowadays so much of it's promo's and skits and even the televised stuff is so scripted they can't adjust to what the live crowd wants.
I'm not saying one is superior to the other but the improv of wrestling is slowly being removed and isn't a skill valued by the "big boys".Comment

Re: Interesting Read from Jim Cornette
They definitely don't work with the crowd anymore, that's for sure.
You'll hear points during promos where they can pause, or call the audience out... but they don't. It's like the audience is just THERE, they aren't apart of the show, they have no bearing on the wrestling or anything.PSN: VoicesWrestling
