A work would be dumb. I doubt it. I think it just came back that his injury wasn't as severe as expected. Or maybe he's still recovering but able to do this and may hold the belt for a bit until he gets cleared or whatever.

SummerSlam 2025: Night 1
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed
***
- Solid opener. Roman worked and sold insanely well in this match. Jey has perfected his act. Bron Breakker broke out even more. Bronson Reed we are still waiting on if he is more than just Tsunami at this point.
Women's Tag Team Championship Match
Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez vs. Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair
*** 1/4
Roxanne Perez keeps proving her worth on the main roster, and the development of relationships between both teams is becoming very well done. This is what happens with you produce a story for this division, people now are beginning to care. Alexa and Charlotte worked well with each other, reminiscent of Team Hell No. Enjoyed the Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt tribute ending.
Karrion Kross vs. Sami Zayn
**
This seemed like Karrion Kross final match starting with his entrance. This was your typical match between these two, nothing extra mixed in. Sami cleanly went over, proving his good defeats Kross's evil. Kross and Scarlett seemed to say goodbye to the fans after the match.
Women's WWE Championship Match
Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill
*3/4
I'm going to start by saying this wasn't a bad match. The match just never clicked. Tiffany's style works well with Jade's, but Jade really shines with a smaller opponent, that she can ragdoll, or a really good worker. Tiffany is very good, and has had a good title reign, but can be sloppy at times. Mix that with Jade's growing experience, and we received an around seven minute, just fine match.
Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton & Jelly Roll
*1/4
Jelly Roll is a celebrity in the ring, and I will not speak on any shortcomings, due to them not being an in-ring, trained, competitor. With that being said, Jelly Roll took bumps and worked extremely hard in this match. Logan Paul was the true star of this match. Drew and Orton were there.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Gunther vs. CM Punk
****
This was a nice throwback match. These two worked very well with each other. Gunther had the main offense in this match, with Punk playing comeback. Little bit of color added an outstanding story near the end of the match. Rating does include the cash-in as well. Seth playing everyone and being okay was a huge element, and he stayed true to his word, Punk will not be World Champion while Seth Rollins is around.Come hang with me on YouTube! Dirtsheets backtracking trying to act like they didn't get worked is the funniest part.
PWI being like "it was a work but now this will cause mistrust among talent" as if that's a thing. They're trying to create a story and drama because they're upset they fell for it and think that talent will be mad at WWE for making a storyline seem real.Comment

Agreed that anyone saying things now is going to try covering their ***, but also looking at it in a generic workplace way, you need to have some trust in people around you so you probably don't want to build a habit of working your coworkers. In a wrestling way, whatever this was (real injury, just a tweak, total fake, etc) would be on a very need-to-know basis. So if it ever came out that like...Tozawa didn't know then okay, who cares?
Roman possibly but that's only if his plans were facing Rollins at SS in the tag match but they told him Rollins is too hurt to compete.
Dirtsheets are mad because they want everyone to know so that whatever their sources could be would be more likely to hear about it. But that's an issue in wrestling. The less people know the better. Why does a lighting person on the SD crew need to know someone's returning? Why would someone on LFG have any inside info on who's winning a match? Only ones who should know are the talent involved in the segment, refs, cameras, producers and so on because they need to do their job according to the moment.Last edited by Majingir; 08-03-2025, 03:26 PM.Comment

One of the things I hate about recaps/highlights are how much they insert youtube/tiktok fan reactions.
I'm watching wwe, not social media, I don't need half the summerslam intro video to just be a compilation of 50 different "influencers" reacting to what happened.
Looks like nobody told Cardi B that Summerslam was 2 nights.
Naomi's dad playing her to the ring must be such a cool moment. This is her first Summerslam since 2017! And I thought Bliss and Charlotte not being at SS since 2021 was crazy.Last edited by Majingir; 08-03-2025, 06:28 PM.👍 2Comment

Great match. Heel wins in a heelish way. Solid start to night 2!

Impressive that there’s 47 teams in this match and yet not one even decent entrance theme between all of them.
Also seeing the Wyatt Sicks with the lights on is lame

This match is amazing. Great story. Lyra wrestling with no hands for several minutes? That's bonkers.👍 1Comment
