I think he has all the skills to be a big star. I don't think you can hold that his dad never reached the top against him. It sure wasn't held against Randy Orton. It remains to be seen though. Sooner or later he's going to get a high profile feud with Orton, probably leading up to Wrestlemania, and if he does well, win or lose, that will catapult him to the next level.

Well, for whatever reason some guys never rises up above a certain level.
Could be politics, could be they don't move enough merchandise, could be that they worry he won't be a big enough 'draw' to sell PPV's. Or, in the case of someone like Jeff Hardy who was a mega face... they can't be trusted enough to be the face of the company and are held back by their personal demons.
A whole host of things to be honest.
William Regal for example... I think he's the total package, he can wrestle, he can talk and he has a good look... but he's never really moved past the mid-card heel, outside of the time he was the GM.
A lot of it has to do with timing... and a lot of it has to do with the factors I listed above.
I might have to check out this DiBiase, Jr. to see what he's got. Heck, I might start watching a few wrestling matches from a technical standpoint.

Though the other thing about Ted is both he and Cody are pretty much in Orton's shadow and little more than goons at the time. They'll have to overcome that. As I implied in the WM topic teaming Ted with his brother might be a good idea.Comment

Hogan didn't have to make the decision on dropping the title because the plan was for Warrior to be the first man to pin him in 7 years.
Losing to Brutus at WM 6 was bull****, though.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Re: Ted DiBiase Jr. The Next Big Thing?
I see DiBiase eliminating Orton at the Royal Rumble. Whether by accident or not, it'll lead to him vs Orton at Mania. No matter who wins that, it's huge for DiBiase, to be doing a match with a guy like Orton at the biggest PPV of the year. I definitely could see Ted DiBiase as one of the top guys on down the road.
Its only a matter of time before a MITB get's cashed in on the same night.

Re: Ted DiBiase Jr. The Next Big Thing?
It'll be tough. I would love for him to act like a rich, cocky guy who uses his lineage as "proof" that he's great, etc. I don't know. I dont see him as being the viper-like Orton or anything. It'll be tough for him.
I think he'll be better suited as a heel for sure, though.Well, for whatever reason some guys never rises up above a certain level.

On Regal, like Krioniq says, WWE seemed to have been pushing him for a World Title run after winning KOTR.....but he got himself into trouble. I think he could have made a great heel champ.Comment

Re: Ted DiBiase Jr. The Next Big Thing?
I know he probably wants to be his own man, but how awesome would it be for Ted DiBiase to bring the Million Dollar Belt out of retirement and give it to his son? Then Ted Jr. could be the new Million Dollar Man. He could obviously make the gimmick his own, but something where he acts rich and is a heel would work well.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Ted DiBiase Jr. The Next Big Thing?
You also have to remember that back in the Million Dollar Man's day the belt didn't move around nearly as much as it does today. If the MDM was around today I think he would have won the strap atleast a couple of times. From the mid to late 80's he was the biggest heel in the WWF."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

It'd be great if he won Money In The Bank and used that to fuel the "money" thing.Comment

Ted Sr. had the best heel laugh ever.
