I think he has all the skills to be a big star. I don't think you can hold that his dad never reached the top against him. It sure wasn't held against Randy Orton. It remains to be seen though. Sooner or later he's going to get a high profile feud with Orton, probably leading up to Wrestlemania, and if he does well, win or lose, that will catapult him to the next level.

Or, in the case of someone like Jeff Hardy who was a mega face... they can't be trusted enough to be the face of the company and are held back by their personal demons.

A whole host of things to be honest.

William Regal for example... I think he's the total package, he can wrestle, he can talk and he has a good look... but he's never really moved past the mid-card heel, outside of the time he was the GM.

A lot of it has to do with timing... and a lot of it has to do with the factors I listed above.
This answer really just opened up a new avenue for me with Wrestling. Never really took the time to understand the business, but now I'm intrigued to learn more.

I might have to check out this DiBiase, Jr. to see what he's got. Heck, I might start watching a few wrestling matches from a technical standpoint.

      Thanks.

Perhaps a better example being Mr. Perfect who WAS planned to get a chance but Hulk Hogan refused to drop the title. Example of it going the other way recently being Sheamus with many beliving it's simply because he's friends with HHH that he's gotten his current chance. (I don't believe that fully. Sure it has something to do with it but if he wasn't working as hard as he apprently is he wouldn't have got it.)

But he had a broken arm for most of his career. They're not gonna let a one armed wrestler be champ!

Though the other thing about Ted is both he and Cody are pretty much in Orton's shadow and little more than goons at the time. They'll have to overcome that. As I implied in the WM topic teaming Ted with his brother might be a good idea.

That's not true at all. They were supposed to have a bigger feud and possibly a PPV main event but Mr. P was Hogan's worst drawing opponent around the loop up to that point.

Hogan didn't have to make the decision on dropping the title because the plan was for Warrior to be the first man to pin him in 7 years.

Losing to Brutus at WM 6 was bull****, though.

I think that's the way it's going to go, it makes sense to have DiBiase eliminate Orton at the Rumble maybe even win the Rumble then being forced to hand his title shot to Orton. Then cost him the match/cash in MITB.
Its only a matter of time before a MITB get's cashed in on the same night.

I think he'll be better suited as a heel for sure, though.

I would love for Dibiase Jr. to eventually become a main eventer and win the World strap. Ted Dibiase, like Cowboy Bob Orton never won the World Title.......yet Randy Orton went on to win the title many times. I think that Dibiase Jr. has the it factor, I just wish they would work on a little better finisher for him as I don't care for Dreamstreet too much. Comes off as a bit of a weak finisher. WWE needs to get the US or IC strap around Dibiase first to get him a bit more experience.

On Regal, like Krioniq says, WWE seemed to have been pushing him for a World Title run after winning KOTR.....but he got himself into trouble. I think he could have made a great heel champ.

Re: Ted DiBiase Jr. The Next Big Thing?

I know he probably wants to be his own man, but how awesome would it be for Ted DiBiase to bring the Million Dollar Belt out of retirement and give it to his son? Then Ted Jr. could be the new Million Dollar Man. He could obviously make the gimmick his own, but something where he acts rich and is a heel would work well.

Ted Jr as the rich kid brat could work. I'd like to see him offer an indecent proposal to a couple like Masters/Eve, buy the Money In The Bank briefcase from the winner, and start his own Million Dollar Corporation.

You also have to remember that back in the Million Dollar Man's day the belt didn't move around nearly as much as it does today. If the MDM was around today I think he would have won the strap atleast a couple of times. From the mid to late 80's he was the biggest heel in the WWF.

It'd be great if he won Money In The Bank and used that to fuel the "money" thing.
