    Re: WWE: NXT Thread

We endured the Festival of Friendship, and now you put us through another heart breaker tonight. I thought it couldn't get any worse than watching KO destroy a friendship but watching Ciampa take out Johnny was worse. Brilliant move by production to put up the closing credits logo like the show was going to end, and then the heel turn just when everyone thought the show was over.

On a positive note, the UK Title Match stole the show hands down followed by the Tag Team Title Ladder match. I don't know if Vince somehow is booking AOP matches but the Super Cena like comebacks are going to kill them. Revival/DIY do the other finishing moves and they kick out, tonight one of them gets kicked in the head with a ladder around his neck. Then climbs the ladder no selling that move.

The fact that Ciampa got heel heat in Chicago...that's amazing storytelling.

Absolutely. Both guys are fantastic, but I see Dunne being a major player on the main roster. The guy is a natural heel while being ridiculously talented in the ring.

Also, Bate's spiral tap got me to pop hard. Definitely did not expect that.

That turn was well executed, not sure how I feel about splitting that team up though. Unless you see a Shawn Michaels or Seth Rollins coming out of it, I don't know that splitting up a team that was as good as them makes sense. One other note, how did Gargano not break his face in to a million pieces from that ladder shot to the face?

Yeah I was feeling the same way about breaking up such a good team, also I'm with you on the ladder shot. I just knew when they showed him he would be busted up, nose broke or something. For me was another good Takeover.

Haven't followed NXT regularly in months, but saw takeover. Was a good show all around. Nice to see WWE is capable of diff things even though main roster doesn't always show it.

Nice heel turn at end. I saw the show still had time left so I was suspecting heel turn, but then they were on stage and end credits screen shows, then heel turn! That wasn't PG crowd!

I hope sanity goes to main roster. They have old school stable feel to them. And team could be involved in 3 diff divisions. Don't always got to be together, just coming out alone "representing sanity" is nice touch too.

Side note, one day someone needs to win ladder match in unique way. Like opponent holds ladder and other guy runs up and grabs belt quickly. Or if a guy is left hanging with no ladder below, he still unhooks belt anyways.

I didn't watch it until this morning, so when I saw how much time was left after the match ended I figured they had some sort of surprise planned, plus it was kind of fishy to end the show with that match

I was thinking of diff scenarios. At most I thought maybe match ends show because it would blow away all others on the card and/or DIY wins.

Or AoP wins and some new tag team debuts that people know and starts a feud with them

Or after the match, Angle or Shane comes out and offers the losing team a contract.

I think Gargano is one of the most popped for faces in the entire WWE now although NXT is more of a mark crowd. If you saw DIY's CWC match then you know what is coming, if you haven't, then you are in for a treat.

The UK Championship match was match of the weekend imo. The fact that Bate went high risk and instead of Dunne just standing there and catching him he actually got out of the way (as most people should... because you know, logic) was a great way to end that match, as Bate still looks strong. Also loved how only one finisher was used in the match, instead of on the WWE roster where finishers aren't as significant because everyone and their mother kicks out of them.

Absolutely. Their match in the CWC was a masterclass in ring psychology/storytelling and it was stiff as hell.

Finally catching up on NXT. I'm on the 7/5 episode and I must say Hideo is bland now and Ember Moon promos are cringeworthy.

I think Hideo's better now as a kind of jaded dude.
Ember...yeah. Too soon to say she's a bust or anything, but I don't think she's connecting like they thought she would. Or I should say, I'm not connecting with it.

Ember Moon v. Ruby Riot #1 contender match was better than anything Roman Reigns could dream of producing.
