Re: WWE: NXT Thread
She’s a fine heel but I have doubts about her carrying a main roster feud that doesn’t include Becky. That’s more of a women’s division problem than a Shayna problem thoughComment

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
That isn't saying much, Sasha & Charlotte were both better heel champions (IMO) than Boringler.
Can't wait she is on the main roster and her is lessened from this hybrid Lesnar/Rousey bs.

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
He (Vince) had Shayna beat Bayley and the Face of the Company, Becky Lynch on her first ever "main roster" match. Safe to say she's going to be booked real well when she moves to Raw. Also I never said he was the final decision guy on Raw. But he is that guy for Brock and was very much hands on with everything pertaining to Ronda from like the Royal Rumble up to an through WM this year. But I can say after watching Raw for the last 4 months, and really since the draft, he's definitely getting a ton of leeway from Vince because Raw is really reminding me of 2002/03 SD. Mid and lower guys getting a chance to do their thing, ****ty love triangle that most people love while others hate, midcard titles mattering, small select group of guys in the WWE title picture.
Also, that match was a complete stinker and her stiff, boring style had a large part to do with that, IMO.
Not a totally far comparison, but Bryan and Dunne do the "limb manipulation" style too. Yet, are far more charismatic and can mix in other styles and maneuvers.
With her MMA background you would think she could do more strike based stuff. Instead everything is ground based, boring and stiff (in a bad way).
Note: She used to guest appear on a podcast I'd listen to years ago and she has a great eye for the business. And is clearly a fan, yet that doesn't mean I find her in-ring work compelling.

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
Anyway, never been a fan of Baszler and I'm she's finally gonna move on. NXT has a lot of underused or pushed talent that need to spotlight, IMO, and that can finally happen now that the "monster heel" is gone.
Gonna be fun to see Ripley turn heel and when they'll reintroduce Storm to the NXT (American) women's division.

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
I've completely lost interest in AEW and still don't care enough about NXT. AEW is clearly trying to figure out who they are from a week-to-week basis. NXT at least seems to know who they are and they have a deep enough roster to keep having these huge shows.Comment

This is a weird way to say "put together a show that more people wanted to see".Comment

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
Cool. Do two world title matches every week. People will want to see that. People are also stupid and won't miss long term booking until it's gone, and then they'll complain about having no big matches.Comment

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
They've been building a Balor title match for two months and to Rhea vs Shayna since August. They built stories and to matches that people wanted to see, and it paid off for them this week.
They were both good matches too - check em out sometime.Comment

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
I get that you're disappointed that AEW came down to earth and settled in the same realm as NXT but maybe critique what NXT is actually doing and not some exaggerated scenario. They're not throwing world title matches on every week, we all know that. With very few exceptions, NXT has historically been good about not hot-shotting and blowing through big matches and there's been nothing since moving to TV to suggest that they'd be getting away from that.
You can't say "good, they're giving away a lot because that's what people want to see," and then argue that they're really aren't giving away that much.Comment

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
Is the topic that they give away too many title matches or too many matches with "names"? Those are two different things and your last couple comments were pretty specific to call out the title matches.
If we expand it to too many names in general, then where does it end? At what point are we then penalizing them for putting any two contenders against each other?
I mean, they've done Cole/Balor, Cole/Riddle, Balor/Ciampa, Riddle/Ricochet, Walter/Kushida, and 2 Baszler title matches, on USA TV in 3 months. That's normal for them?
There were more Tag and NA title matches in the Network days instead of World and Women's that they've done so far on TV, so there's that difference to note.
You can't say "good, they're giving away a lot because that's what people want to see," and then argue that they're really aren't giving away that much.
They had a good week (speaking in terms of continuing or paying off stories) - why is this a bad thing?Last edited by SmashMan; 12-22-2019, 03:40 AM.Comment

I don't care that they "give away" matches.
The show has progressive storytelling. That's good enough for me considering most of the "main" shows.Comment

Re: WWE: NXT Thread
The overanalyzing by today's wrestling fan, smh
Wtf are we arguing here? We got a good show, who cares why...
