This! This! This! Never knew why you guys liked him so much. He talked way too much on commentary, even if it was more interesting than what we have now. His backstage work... well when he gets backstage work, has been one step above that blonde chick whose name I don't care about.

          Shame on you Doc!

Striker in his early commentary days on ECW was the best colour commentator in the business. Why? Because he just talked about wrestling with a few funny quips in there.

He was never quite as good on SD but was still better than Booker T and Jerry Lawler.

They just seemed to give up on him which was a shame. To his credit he came back to the ring last year and performed well.

I hope we see him again on TV for another wrestling company.

Because he actually called the match, knew the moves, generally knowledgeable, could get things over and explain things that people often ask about while still coming off as a passionate fan that cares about what's going on.

Problem was, too often, he was way too much of a fan, and a lot of his quirky stories were BS. I still remember how he'd spend half of a Mike Knox match going on about him being some graduate in anatomy... and I'm like no. Sure, he could put guys over, sometimes. Other times it was just a drag listening to his matches. He may know moves and what not, but often, he would take too long to talk about what as going on and get behind the action. We haven't had great commentary since, oh, I don't know, JR. Why the hell is he just doing management now exactly? Less travel? Are they hoping maybe Cole will evolve some day?

                    Regal is pretty great.
No idea why JR isn't commentating. He doesn't even do NXT anymore.

Regal is great for sure. The few times I've heard of, he keeps the match flowing.

I'm going to miss Striker like crazy. I thought he was an excellent color guy.

During CM Punk's initial heel run and subsequent feud with Jeff Hardy, Striker gave Punk my favorite nickname he's ever had: SmackDown's Surgeon General. It was perfect.

                            He will be missed.

I'm indifferent on the release. Didn't dislike him personally (because I don't know him), and he seems like a nice enough guy, but I didn't like his commentary style at all. To me it always came off as too rehearsed (specifically his constant nicknames), and the commentary just never really felt 'together' with the matches he was calling.

The man clearly loves wrestling and has the knowledge to describe what's going on in the ring...but we already have Regal who can do that and he's pretty awesome at it.

It would be sad if one mistake effectively ended it for him back in 2010. Cole (who I don't dislike to be fair) and Lawler (who needs to retire) make mistakes all the time and nothing comes of it.

All we need now is to get Regal either announcing full-time on the main roster or wrestling full-time again
