No I'm pretty sure it was the "I'm markin' out bro!" at the Royal Rumble.
I don't even remember the Cena thing and can't think what was bad about it. I assume it was during the Barrett/Orton Survivor Series match.

Yeah, the "Free or Fired" where Cena had to make his super-important, life-altering referee decision. Unless Striker was just really happy at Cena being fired, he totally, over-enthusiastically miscalled the finish.

But now that you mention it, the "I'm markin' out, bro!" was probably the one that really sealed his fate. Striker just did not have a good couple months between Survivor Series and the Rumble.

Ah I get it now. Cena was fired because Orton won and he said free instead. No way that's it or Cole would've been fired 1000000000000000000 times over. He said some other crazy thing during that Rumble too but I don't remember it.

It probably didn't help Striker's career that this is likely the most publicity he ever got.

I will never miss a chance to link to that article. It sums up my thoughts on his performance that day so well.

Recently released WWE talent Matt Striker made a surprise appearance at this Friday's FWE Welcome to the Rumble iPPV, just two days after it was announced that his WWE contract had expired.

Striker was introduced before the show began, and joined the commentary team for the entire night. Several reports coming in said that Striker thanked WWE for the chance and opportunity, but also took some shots at the company, saying that he could now properly call the names of moves, reference Japan-based wrestling, and bring up the history and background of the performers without getting in trouble.

Yea, those quotes sum up why I thought he was "meh". Though we know how the voice in their ear can make them sound horrible.

Since I love people taking shots and making jokes about WWE I went to look for that PPV and holy ****, that card!
                Brian Kendrick vs. Petey Williams
Paul London vs. Jimmy Wang Yang
                RVD vs. Tommy Dreamer
                Carlito vs. John Morrison
That's not an insult, THAT is just a fact of life.

Somebody should put that London guy and Kendrick guy together.

The empty space above this sentence has more purpose than JTG at this point.

The only reason he has a job, is because people forgot he's there.. see, apparently he was fired a few years ago, and there was a glitch in payroll. So one day they're likely to just fix the glitch.
