I might be inclined to believe Taker's mediocre if I just started watching wrestling this year. But after years of great matches with HBK, Lesnar, Rock, Angle, Orton, HHH, Hardy, Bret, Edge, Foley, Batista, and so on, its pretty obvious he's one of the better wrestlers the WWE has ever seen. Also being one of the most popular wrestlers for the past 20 years with arguably the best gimmick the WWE has ever produced helps quite a bit.

Seriously though, it's really hard to say. I would like to see Ted Jr. do it; he's been kind of stuck in the mud since the breakup of Legacy and this would be a great way to push him to the main event. He can "buy" a shot at Undertaker for WM and then win the match.

Barrett would also be a good choice. He's already drawing good heat, but this would really put him on another level.

DiBiase, Barrett, and Punk are the only choices of who would benefit the most, in my opinion.

I'm actually surprised that this thread has had this many replies already and nobody has mentioned Sheamus yet.

I dont think he will ever lose. I mean he is 18-0, I think they would want him to be 20-0, but the way his health issues are going, he might not make it to 20, and he def. wont make it to 20 wrestling straight through for 2 years, so it might be hes gone for 4-5 months comes back for mania, is gone for 3, is back for a few months then out again till mania.

Im just saying that beating taker at mania after the dude is just constantly injured, etc might not put someone over as much as it would have 2 years ago. I think Shawn Michaels had a good storyline going and it was a good set up, I wouldnt have been surprised if he won, Im not 100% that anyone else can get to that point with the streak etc.

this is all pure speculation, Im not really good at predicting wrestling events

Sorry, I'm just not a big Taker fan. Which is ironic, because my favorite matches ever were the HBK v Taker matches. Everything else is just the same boring crap and for some reason, he's gotten it over.

I don't like Taker either. All the magic powers and crap just isn't for me, but people seem to get into him.

All I'm saying is I would buy a Miz "19-1" t-shirt (I think his 20th defense will be his last either way).

I think if HBK had been 5 years younger and would've stayed around for at least another 3-5 years, I could totally have seen him ending the streak. I think having him win on his way out would've been cool, too, but most guys that have been in the business for a while usually put someone over on their way out.

I think HHH is doing the same thing for him that ending the streak would. Though yes he and Miz would also be acceptable.

I don't think anybody should, it's basically Taker's legacy. He was/is a big time draw, but he was never really anything else. He didn't have as many world title reigns as some of the other legends did, probably because in his later stages he was on the shelf injured most of the time.

I just wish they would have done a Goldberg comes in goes on the streak part 2 and went to WrestleMania to face Taker streak v streak, with the strap on the line.

Adjusted to align with my opinion on the matter.

I don't think Taker wrestles beyond 20 'Mania matches.
