Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
I can't imagine anyone in the company going over him and it being acceptable. The best option to me would not be to try and elevate a character I already have but to invest resources in securing a talent who could potentially serve as an heir to the gimmick. In many ways, The Undertaker is like a comic book or super hero. Everything about his persona defies reality. That sets him apart from other wrestlers. His storylines are also often more distinct with supernatural undertones.
Whenever a superhero dies or retires or whatever, it's always related somehow to their backstory and the emergence of a new enemy or a new hero assuming that persona and making it his own. The Undertaker's gimmick is a valuable property to WWE due to the amount of time and resources they have already invested in the character.
We've already seen how this could work, as it was done when the Kane character was introduced and became a moderate success in its / his own right.
I'd say have Taker's story complete itself and tie up whatever loose ends remain. Have a cast of returning characters from his past revisiting and revealing information we would need to build up to the introduction of this new character. Their allegiance with this new entity would also help mount the odds against Taker while building into a storyline that has long been established and most wrestling fans know.
Make it a big spectacle and give some new prospect a monster push. Have Taker hand pick his successor and work with them diligently for 9-12 months to learn the gimmick and define the character. It wouldn't necessarily be Taker 2.0, but it could be a derivation of his persona, according to how they wanted to write the storyline.Comment

Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
Another option on top of Undertaker retiring undefeated. I believe when it is his time to retire, his last match must be at Wrestlemania. Now, in my opinion he shouldn't lose, but the build up and the match takes so much out of him that he can't recover from it.
Maybe create a career ending injury where every match is a risk and at Wrestlemania he wins, but passes out afterwards from so called career ending injury.Comment

Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
HBK is my favorite of all-time, and that ending would...well..suck. HBK went out so well, I don't want him getting involved with Taker again, that story is told and complete. And whoever beats Taker, it should be on their own accord. No interference.Comment

Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
Nobody, really. Although it would be cool to have Undertaker fued with the MITB winner and then said winner running in after Undertaker extended his streak only to beat him at Wrestlemania.Comment

No one ever should end it.
If it did end, it would be CenaComment

I def would like to see a pass-the-torch type match, ending with a younger generation and not a Shawn Michaels, or HHH.Comment

Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
as it stands now. punk needs to go over whoever he faces at wrestlemania so dont put him against taker. he doesnt need sympathy cheers.
ill like to see Triple H vs Punk at Mania with a clean victory. thats of course if he doesnt face Austin. that would awesome."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"

Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
that would be the absolute worst way for the streak to get broken. first off i dont think it shouldnt be broken but if it does, anything other than a clean victory is foolish."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"

Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
Kane/Taker Mania XXX at the Garden. Either Kane beats Taker and then some "henchmen" of sorts for Taker come out and destroy Kane. And Taker and Kane go out on the same night. Or Kane wins and has one last run at playing off the "stepping out of his brother's shadow" angle.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: Who Would you like to see end Taker's Streak?
I've always been of the belief that there should only be two possible endings to Taker's streak. The first is that he retires at WM undefeated. The second is that whoever beats him is pushed so hard, and they don't stop pushing him. The streak should be a gold ticket to make a new main eventer.
There's a couple of problems with the second option. You don't want to push somebody by having them end the streak, and they burn out like Brock did. Plus, you have the issue in that they have the damnedest time pushing people without giving wins back or stopping their push. Parody booking gets nobody over.
It's probably better off they just let him retire undefeated.Comment
