Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
Bryan/Show was really good and Henry on commentary made it even better. Slater getting the Hornswoggle treatment is the WWE welcoming him back from that Wellness Policy vacation. It seems like those violations and your girlfriend/wife badmouthing the company will keep you low on the card unless you're actually bringing in money. I just hope these recent losses lead to something other than McIntyre being future endeavored.Comment

Also Bourne wasn't stripped of his Tag Title for his violation, and Truth is getting a high profile feud w/ Miz after his violation, so the thought that violation = burial isn't automatic anymore it seems.Comment

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
Who else loved last nights episode? I only catch Smackdown about every other week, but I'm very glad I watched last night. The Big Show/Daniel Bryan feud is awesome, and I love the WWE for getting me to be annoyed with Bryan. The match was awesome, although I'm getting tired of the DQ'ed, but still holds onto the belt, shtick. If you want Bryan to hold onto the belt, let him do it in the ring!
The only other big issue I had last night was the Hornswaggle thing. Not only do I feel there is no point to those kind of matches, but the WWE throws away credibility when they have a guy like Hornswaggle win matches on a consistent basis. Just my opinion, but I sure feel like they could do without it.Writer for Operation Sports

Thats true, I did get annoyed when they used to do with Mysterio a lot. They just did it on Raw monday night though (with Dolph), so I'm surprised they used it again.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
I want Bryan to beat the bigger guys in the ring but realistically it won't happen more than probably 1 out of 5, and the DQ thing makes Bryan look very clever. All that has to happen now is for him to become an intimidating badass by fighting guys who are his size (and shouting 'I HAVE 'TIL FIVE!'). I like the situation with Show and Henry though I'm definitely interested in seeing where it goes.
Cole has been much better recently as well, he's almost bearable now, although I do wish Josh would actually call him on his bulls**t and not try to do it half-heartedly.
On NXT this week, William Regal and Josh Mathews did a heck of a job putting over all the wrestlers in the ring. This should be the M.O. of all the announcers in WWE including Cole.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
That epitomised what was wrong with WWE in 2008 to the early part of '09. Kane was getting beaten by Rey all the time. I think they had about 5 or 6 matches and Kane won one I think, which is terrible booking given the size difference. Then to emphasise the inconsistency of it all, Kane beat Chavo in about 8 seconds to win the ECW title at WM. Thankfully this kind of booking appears to be disappearing, at least on SD for the most part.
And the only time Michael Cole has ever been bearable in the past year was when Mark Henry was there.Comment

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
Mark Henry should be on commentary every week.
Booker T-Cody had a good match. Glad to see Cody win clean and then confront Goldust after the match backstage to move that feud along.
I like what they are doing with Daniel Bryan. I think he'd be a great heel.
The Sheamus-Barrett stuff was good, but man, Mahal looked so out of place there and to see him slap that weak camel clutch on Sheamus was bad, imo. He needs to watch some video of how to properly put that move on.
Why is Natalya doing jobs every week? I liked the old footage of her and Tamina's dads before their match.Currently Playing:

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
I like that they've finally given Daniel Bryan a character. He just seemed like a guy that was coming out and wrestling every week, and I don't think that's a good look for the company's WHC.
Personally, I'd like to see Bryan take on the "I'm the best in the the world, and I know it" kind of personality, with him cutting a promo and have Punk and Jericho object to that claim, leading to a "Best in the World" triple threat match at WM28 for unification of the heavyweight championships.Comment

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
As much as I like the idea of that feud, I do have a few issues with it.
1) I hate triple threat matches.
2) Jericho and Punk would just embarrass Bryan on the mic leading up to that match. It'd be like when Punk feuded with Del Rio.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2012
A couple of my favorite WrestleMania matches were the HBK/HHH/Benoit at WM20 and Orton/Angle/Mysterio at WM22 (could have been an all-timer if it went longer). Plus, I think triple threat matches can have some of the best endings to match (Orton punting Trips while he was covering Cena).
I really didn't think of Bryan getting crushed on the mic when I was posting that, but I think that Bryan being a heel could make up for some of his insufficiencies when compared to Punk and Jericho.Last edited by TheVinylHippo; 01-07-2012, 07:42 PM.Comment
