Prior to the main event, the self-appointed Special Guest Referee Vickie Guerrero reaffirmed that Edge’s Spear was still banned. If he opted to use it against Dolph Ziggler, he would be disqualified and the “acting” GM’s bleach-blond boyfriend would automatically become the new World Heavyweight Champion.



In the peak of the heated championship showdown, Vickie attempted to spear Edge herself, only to hurt her ankle. The Ultimate Opportunist seized the moment and hit the banned Spear on Ziggler two separate times. The Green Bay Packers' Clay Matthews then charged to the ring as a second Special Guest Referee, making the three-count to secure Edge’s victory. However, the outcome of SmackDown’s main event became unclear when the injured Guerrero waved-off The Rated-R Superstar win. Who is the rightful holder of the World Title?

I am aware in the world of pro wrestling strange things happen but at least attempt to make them have some logic. The least they could've done was have Matthews ref like a 25 second diva match so he was a special ref for the night. I did fast forward through whatever diva match was on though and the Kane JTG match, did I miss Matthews as a ref?

They'll probably end up stripping the title from Edge but not awarding it to Ziggler since the Chamber match will be two (kayfabe) days after SmackDown anyway.

So they are going to strip Edge of the title, only for him to win it back 2 days later at the Elimination Chamber? What's the point in that?

Booker T is rough on commentary, but I attribute a big part of that to Michael Cole, who has just been awful lately with talking over other people. I think if it were just Booker T and Josh Matthews, Book would do a little better. I think he's nervous that Cole's going to cut him off as soon as he starts speaking (and he usually does) and that causes him to lose his train of thought.

I think Booker is doing fantastic...I noticed a ton of improvement this week from last week.

Whats going on with Swagger? I thought he was going to be feuding with Kofi.

I dont believe he was on Smackdown this past week. But he was on WWE Superstars in a match with Barretta. Wasnt Swagger a World Heavyweight Champ? Now he's on Superstars?

He was also on Superstars for three consecutive weeks before WrestleMania last year where he won MitB.

I wonder who they will plug into the Elimination Chamber spot after this week's Smackdown?

I kind of like Booker, but have a hard time understanding him. I think I liked Stryker better.

Also, even though I am supposed to hate Cole, and I do, having him on twice a week is just too much. I wonder if they will tone Cole back if the Miz loses at WM.

I don't like Dolph's first title reign going down like that. He should be a nice addition to RAW, hopefully SmackDown gets someone good in return like King Sheamus. I'd like to see Christian get the spot in SmackDown's Elimination Chamber.

That was my first thought. I was like, "I really hope they're doing this because Christian is ready to go now and they want to expand upon the Del Rio angle."

I would love to see Edge/Christian/Del Rio triple threat at WM with Christian going over.
