Btw, I was at the last Smackdown and E and C reunited and gave a 5 second pose after the show. I'll post pics later.

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2011
You know, man, I didn't even go this time. I never even found out they were coming here until two weeks after tickets were already on sale and by then the first several rows of ringside seats were long sold out. After sitting in the third row at ringside last time I absolutely refuse to sit anywhere else but there or closer. Same goes for the friends I went with too.
I chalk it up to awful promotion on the part of the WWE about this mishap since the last time SD was here my inbox was flooded with info about it, preorder stuff and even a password to buy tickets early since I was a "preferred customer" of theirs. I mean, I did spend over $2500 on WWE related stuff in the 2010 calender year so you would think that if I was a "preferred customer" last April that I would still be one now. But no, I never received a single e-mail about it or anything. Strange.Comment

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2011
I much prefer SmackDown as far as in-ring product is concerned, especially live since promos sound better on television than they do live since the crowd noise drowns out a lot of stuff. However, I would definitely go to a Raw event too if they ever came here again. It's been almost two years.Comment

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2011
Thoughts on SD 3/11:
-Edge coming out and calling out Del Rio, leading to ADR/Clay and then Christian to set up tag match, which was predictable and tried and true, but good to see E&C reunion for now.
-The Corre is really looking more and more like a low rent version of the original Nexus each week.
-More Raw recap on SD, which makes no sense and takes time away from building stuff on SD.
-Cody Rhodes wrestled in a suit, which makes me think that should become part of his gimmick. Wrestling in a suit...it's never been done before. Think about it.
-Another promo to hype HHH/Taker. Tired of hearing them both come out and give the same promo every week.
-Cena pretty much writes off the Rock and says he's focusing on Miz, which pretty much kills any chance of Rock/Cena match at WM. Which is good, hopefully now Miz/Cena can build instead of Cena/Rock war of words w/ Miz as the red-headed stepchild.
-Rey/Drew was a really good match. I like McIntire more and more each week, hopefully they find something for him to do at WM since MITB is apparently out.
-I'm still thinking Christian will eventually turn on Edge and make it a triple threat match at WM.Comment

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2011
I wish E&C would've came out together and with their old music. I wanted them to really play up the nostalgia factor. Oh well.

Re: Official WWE Smackdown Thread 2011
Cole was great (as always). My quote of the night that had me dying... "Swagger is teaching me all those moves, and counters to all those moves!!". LMFAO. I absolutely love him. I loved that the announcers could not get a word in edge-wise because Cole went into another zone and started screaming over them. I know it probably annoys some people, but it was a short squash, so it didn't bother me.
Sheamus-Kofi was very sloppy to me. The Brough Kick was awesome (it always is), but there was a lot of sloppiness. The things I remember specifically were Kofi's botched superman punch off the apron that missed wildly and Sheamus kicking the ring steps, them not moving, and Kofi then clutching his leg like they hit him (which is what he was supposed to do, it just looked bad). I think these guys both have a reputation as good workers so it is expected that their matches are always good. This one was ehh. I'm glad they are building Sheamus back up though.
I have to give a shout out to Cody Rhodes who had a GREAT gimmick ("Dashing"), they altered it when the other gimmick was working so well and had a lot of life, and he is STILL killing it. I love the change in music, the mannerisms, the mask as a weapon, the towel over his head, the wrestling in a suit (which I don't quite understand... is his body disfigured too?), I love all of it. Cody is simply the man.
Another thing I don't get about Cody is his disfigurement. He wears a clear mask, so we can all see that there is nothing wrong with his face. So, what's the deal? Is it supposed to be one big inside joke, do they want us to believe that because he wears a mask that means he's disfigured (even though we see he isn't), or is it that Cody is so vain that any imperfection (the "surgery") is cause for him to go all phantom of the opera, even though there is nothing wrong with him?
I think it's the last one, but want other people's opinions.
The Christian vs. Del Rio match was probably my favorite part. I liked the outcome too. Reason being, it sets up for Christian either a surprise third entrant in the main event (unlikely). More likely, it sets up for a Christian-Del Rio feud for the title if Del Rio wins at Mania. Either result would be good.
I also loved that they steered away from the cliched, Face destroys Heel's car. Instead, we got an AWESOME con-chair-to to Edge's arm (which looked sick, but I wish Edge sold more).Comment
