Re: Updated list of planned WWE DVD releases for 2011

I was pretty disappointed in the WrestleMania doc on Netflix. They didn't really show a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff (perhaps that's on another disc) and, even though I was hoping for some truth, they put the usual WWE spin on WrestleMania VII, IX and XI. At least they admitted WrestleMania II wasn't very good, but really, would it kill WWE to admit 20 years later what the real reason was they changed the WM VII location?

They kind of admitted to it on the doc, but did it in a way where it wasn't as apparent. This doc wasn't bad, but I hated when they would hop around based on location and not chronological order.

        Totally agree with this.

The continuity was all over the place.

Yeah, that was annoying. It felt like after the first 30-40 minutes, they rushed through a lot of the WrestleManias.

I did find it interesting that McMahon decided that he would no longer (at least, as long as he can sell tickets) hold WrestleManias at regular arenas and would do stadiums only. I like both settings, and it was interesting to hear Cena say how he preferred the smaller venues for WM b/c the crowd reactions were a lot better.

Does anyone own this DVD set? How are the matches? Is there a lot of behind-the-scenes extras that weren't in the documentary?

All I saw was the doc that was on Netflix.

I have the DVD set, I've watched a few of the matches, but it definitely left me wanting more in the "behind the scenes" department.

All the matches have obviously been seen before at any given time, but it's still fun to live them again.

                .

I bet they break that to go back to MSG for XXX though. I could see why, if the last 3 that were in basketball arenas sold out in a matter of minutes(or even less), that they would want to go for the stadiums. I like having WM at stadiums because it helps it feel different from every other show of the year.

The WWE has become less about tradition and history lately, so it would not all surprise me for them to skip NYC in 2014. It's a shame that the I-95 metro area doesn't have an indoor facility the size that WM has become accustomed to now.

does anyone know why they arent doing volumes 3 + 4 of Survivor series?

i thought the next SS on the docket being the montreal screwjob was the reason...but thats just 1 PPV. would they skip 2 volume just to avoid that?

vince is too money hungry to not sell it, it would sell like hot cakes.

i cant believe i just said "it would sell like hot cakes". i suck.

The WrestleMania 27 dvd set will reportedly edit out "For Whom the Bells Tolls" and "Ain't No Grave" for the HHH/Taker entrances. The chairshot to the head is still included in the match though. Miz's trailer featuring "Hate Me Now" was not edited.
