That sounds like me. I've played SVR 2006, HCTP, No Mercy, WCW/nWo Revenge, SvR 2010, and SvR 2011 (360). I'm getting ready to play Shodown LOW again as well, when the little one takes a nap, and I can have the TV back.

I just can't find the one "it" game that I can stick with. I want some old school wrestlers so I can relive the glory days, but there just aren't really any games with "it". I've never played the Fire Pro games, and can't imagine I'd like them too much, being 2d and all.

I may go back and try to find DoR 1&2, and maybe Raw 2 as well. I need to look up the RAW roster, and see how easy it will be to create some good old school guys.

Fire Pro is up there. I spent way too much time working on compiling the ultimate roster with that game. Some of the N64 games are way up there. But KOC II (another Japan import) is mine, hands down. Unreal gameplay that recreates puro perfectly. Create a wrestler is kind of brutal on appearances, but the movesets are lights out. I actually created an ROH Save if anyone's interested on fire pro club. Dragon, Richards, Romero, Nigel, and the Briscoes. Full logic, so I'm pretty proud of it since you need a translation guide to maneuver it.

Wow... Very slick. How hard is it to navigate through KOCII CWood? Is there an english translation pack or anything?

WCW Nitro...the game that got me into wrestling. Honorable mention goes to WWF War Zone.

Wrestlemania 2000. I still remember the brutal car ride home after I bought it during the holiday season from Toys R Us with mom.

My second was WCW/nWo Revenge

My favorite post Nintento 64 was Smackdown Shut Your Mouth. So many countless hour spent in TLC matches.

My favorite of all nostalgic wrestling games is WWF Warzone. It was so bad but it was the first wrestling game I own personally. The old sega games were good too.

Forgot to mention Fire Pro isn't just a wrestling game either. There's MMA,kick boxing and I think boxing available as well.

I've watched some videos on youtube, but I just don't think I'd be able to get into it. Reminds me of old SNES games, lol. I can't even go back and play No Mercy now, due to the terrible graphics (squatty, blocky wrestlers).

No Mercy would be my 3rd game, then Wrestlefest (arcade) and WWF Wrestlemania (NES)

Based on all of our answers, it's been a LONG time since any of us had a great wrestling game. Such a shame. No one can get it right and probably in 10 years easy since someone has.

That looks awesome. Granted, it's not a game, rather directed scenes. But just imagine if you could pull some of that stuff.

And yeah EG, it's quite a shame. I'm trying to score a copy of KOC II, but locally, nobody is responding to my ads. I definitely don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it, so I'll just hold off. Based on the videos that I've seen, it looks pretty freakin nice.

I just want "that" game, that you can go and play, and have some great matches. If I have to wade through some japanese text to get it, then so be it.

I've been looking for "that one" wrestling game for a while now too. I feel you pain

No Mercy is still a great game, but I've had a hard time sticking with it lately due to its age.

If you have a PS2 or a PS3 that can play PS2 discs, I'd give Fire Pro a try. It's under $10. The 2D look doesn't bother me anymore. The best part of Fire Pio is the logic. Guys will act as they are supposed to. The people who create edits are usually very good at making sure their creations mimic their real life counterparts. It's refreshing seeing a CPU that feels "smart" in the ring and gives you the fear of losing without being cheap about it.

I also like the controls. You can attempt a finisher at any time. Granted, if you try big moves too early your success rate is very low, but I like that any move is possible at any time in a match. I'm also a bit tired of the "stike or grapple" facet of most wrestlers. This has that too, but the grapples are quick (unlike SvR) and timing determines the "winner" of each one. That makes it a little more fun for me.

I really liked the direct Legends of Wrestling was going in, with the 3 buttons for attacks. I also liked the reversals in that game. Too bad the CPU does the same stupid things every match in that game.

If you really need a 3D game, try Day of Reckoning 1 or 2. They are very solid, and a lot of fun. You can also get 32 CAWs at a time by using 2 memory cards (works on the Wii too).

I hate the GC controllers though, so I'm not sure how much enjoyment I'll get out of them either. But I may give it a try.

I popped in Showdown, Legends of Wrestling in last night. I may try to play it a little more when I get home, to see if it will feed my need for nostalgia.

Yeah, I just never cared for the arena's really. It's not a bad game by any means either. It's just hard to mod for me. I played the "Updated Version" from TWC4's website, and it was pretty good. But I just kept having small issues here and there, multiple crashes to desktop, so I called it quits. Once TWC5 comes out, then I'll try to give it a go as well.
