Orton/Christian is worth checking out, maybe Mysterio/Truth, but that's about it. Cena easily has ten moves he consistently uses. Not having an extensive moveset doesn't make you a bad wrestler anyway, ask Ric Flair.

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
Well WM 28 will be in Miami (Rock's hometown) and the SURPRISE will be to surprise fans that thought there was going to be a surprise, but then realize there is no surprise......because WWF or WWE has really had NO surprises since like 1998....when they had to "shock" fans because WCW/NWO was "stealing" their "candy"........
The worst thing that happened to wrestling was VKM buying out the competition.....after that they lost their competitive "edge"MLB: Chicago Cubs
NPB: Yokohama BayStars
GO CUBS GO!...MOVE ON BAYSTARS!Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
I also think that the next WM would be the perfect place for him to turn heel, but right now it seems like that wouldn't matter much. They need better stories. How is the best heel in the business, Punk, working poop programs? How does Mike Cole get prime spots at a PPV????? Oh well. I hear Goldberg may show up at TNA and since I am a mark for Bill I would start watching it if he shows.DON'T PANICComment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
right. but im not talking about an era. im talking about they handle their top faces. cena and hogan are essentially the same. both are "righteous" and posses super human strength to defy the odds stacked against them. they write the same way for both of these guys, as opposed to the HHH, HBK, stone colds and rocks of the 90s.Comment

now, if you wanna discuss the BLATANT misuse of punk, or the completely written off, sent to the phantom zone drew mac, then we got another story...Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
I think the difference between Hogan and Cena is that Hogan used to sell getting the crap beat outta him a little better. Go back and watch Hogan sell a body slam. Granted it was a bigger move back then but still. Hogan also used the Hulk Up. Which many times began by getting the fans to chant for him while he was in a wear down hold. The Hulk Up was coming from the power of the fans so it was part of the story, part of the character. It was a borderline supernatural ability. Cena just starts to no sell things out of no where. There's no build up to it, there's nothing exciting about it. I dunno what do you guys think.Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
I think a mix of the plodding style with quicker bursts would be better. There was a lot more telling of a story in the ring back in the late 80's early 90's. Which we of course can thank Macho Man for being a big part of that. It's all about the ending's now. The multiple near falls into the reverse finisher into finisher ending. There seems to be more and more wrestlers that don't take the time to make the whole match great instead of just the ending.
Also on a side note for Hogan. Let's all remember that there was a reason he became the icon that he is. They didn't just pull a name out of a hat and say you're going to be the face of wrestling. Hogan was a complete package. He had amazing charisma and mic skills, a good unique look, great size, a great salesman(remember he had to carry matches a lot due to the size and age of many of his opponents) and wrestling ability. If you don't believe me on his skill in the ring then go check out some of his matches from Japan where he was dropping enzigurie's left and right.Last edited by Mercury112491; 05-23-2011, 10:45 AM.Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
Regarding Hogan:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but fans were getting tired of his "say your prayers, eat your vitamins" act after all those years. So what did WCW (brilliantly) do? Gave him the most shocking heel turn in wrestling when he joined NWO and started wearing black. His popularity shot thru the roof. (and so did WCW's).
Cena joining Nexus was speculated, but it hasn't happened yet. I think it'd have a similar effect if it happened....JMO.

McMahon really only bought the name and the library. WCW was already dead. If TNT hadn't already cancelled Nitro, Bischoff was going to buy WCW.Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
About the PPV.
Christian/Orton was a 4 star match, it was truly great. It looks like Orton has found an almost perfect opponent in Christian. They paced the match so well, using Orton's slow style to ramp up to a frantic finish. I also like how it seems like a possible slow heel turn for Christian, or at least keep the story alive of him chasing that belt back down. Christian's story is the best thing going for the E' right now, you can even tell by the fan's reaction in the live crowd. It's what they care about most.
Miz/Cena...I thought it was interesting having the beat down. Saw the stupid ending coming a mile away though. How do you no-sell being tortured for 20 minutes?Comment
